NGE Diary

As some may know I decided to return to the game with a few of my mates to honestlty give the NGE a fair go so for the next 3 months we will be playing just as much as we did pre-cu going through all the NGE content etc.

Week 1) Making money ............

Before the NGE and CU I was a server wide Armoursmith on the Chimaera server however when they messed up the Chimaera server by pushing the CU live causing a 2 week roll back I decided to quit and sold all my resources and crafting gear.  So I logged into my characters subbed 3 of my remaining accounts and was greated with a healthy bank balance won't state exactly how much. However I decided not to dip in to this and find out exactly how quick I could make money, so I traded all the money over to my jedi account who I won't really be playing with for a few weeks.

I checked the trade forums and noticed VET rewards were selling for insane amounts and since I had a quite a few I placed some on auction and I made a total of 60 million credits from that alone. I found a night sister energy lance I had in my backpack and sold that for 50 million credits the following day so already I had made 110 million in the first 2 days. The remaining VET rewards I decided to place in a vendor marked loot and vet rewards and for the past 3 days I have made another 20 million selling those so this brings me up to 130million credits which isn't  shabby considering as an armoursmith it would take me about 4 weeks of good sales to hit that. I had also been offered 20million for one of the anniversary paintings which should be gone by tuesday which brings my grand total of 150million  in 4/5 days alone not to bad and its all from loot :)

I decided to play Kashykk again this week (since I have no resources or a crafting suit to craft and all I was doing was  selling loot ) to level up one of my characters up to 90 since hes already level 80.  I did the Ryatt trials first then the hunting grounds, the later one being exrutiatingly boring  having to constantly kill come back to the npc, kill go back to the npc then go to this npc and kill and go back to the other npc etc but I did it and managed to get to level 83 with 8k remaining till I hit 84 not to mention some more nice loot to sell. Next stop will be mustafar....

Now my main objective for this week coming, is try and get resources and a crafting suit and actually start making some armour. I have already gathered some of the server best spawns spending about 25 million in total so far and laying down 80 harvesters gathering stuff in spawn now.  I should be getting a crafting suit and some more resources this week so it could end up costing me a total of 175 million but I have the credits and so far I'm making a hell of a lot more then what I am spending.  One thing is worrying hide is no where to be seen and no one wants to spend time gathering it ...... this could be a major problem.......

so stayed tuned for my next installment of " NGE adventures of a crafter "  will I actually be able to sell or compete with the resource crate fly by night crafters who are a thorn in the side of the long serving armoursmiths and crafters???

So, what's your opinion of the game so far?

Just a minor thing.  While the way you made credits is valid for a returning Vet, a new player couldn't make the same amount that quickly since they'd have none of that stuff to sell :)

Right now gameplay is like this:

    1. Log in.
    2. Stand around the GCW base on Naboo for hours doing nothing waiting for it to max out.
    3. Find out that your side lost the base because everyone couldn't stay awake for 3 straight days.

    Very very fun content.  Not.

Heh, that's one choice available to you if you want it.  Can't say it's something I would do though...

Ah yes that wasn't my intention just wanted to show how easy is it was for myself to make credits. Well since I didn't do much combat stuff during my first stint bar level my jedi which was just grinding mobs on planets etc or level my smuggler I have to say it is quite fun. However some of the quests are extremely boring especially if it involves killing a mob then you have to travel 3k back to the quest giving npc only for him to then tell you to back again to the same place to kill a family member of the mob such as webweavers ---- webweaver warriors etc. You would think they can use laser rifles they can fly ships why can't they make use of a communicating device to say oh you've completed this now kill these, saves you the travel time, but thats just my opinion. The actual interface is a problem in combat only having the one combat bar is some what hindering could do with the ability to have up to a maximum of 4. The mobs are also annoying when they start running 100 miles per hour around you etc, especially when they zoom off the screen. Another thing is how you need to open the radial menu via a key stroke when you what to pick items up etc in your house i liked it before when you could right click on them I haven't checked if you can change this yet or customise it so it is some what like pre-cu.

I'm not keen on the new inventory changes because its an annoyance having to open up a bag to put things in to it from your inventory I perfered it when you could drag items in to the bag with out having to open it. Up side is so far I've not experienced any lag at all, however i've not been to restuss yet during the pvp battles so hopefully i'll try and make a visit down there some time this week.  This could be down to the fact  I do have a  some  what beefy system or that they have actually improved on the lag.  I am having fun so far but thats because I enjoy surveying and harvesting resources lol but questing with a few friends is fun instead of doing it all alone.

As a CL90 and a PvP'er (PvE content in SWGNGE still sucks ass) what else is there to do?  You HAVE to have these stims now or else you fail in PvP.

I've seen whole groups attacking someone using those D level base stims and their health RISES instead of falls!

Clearly they are way overpowered and unbalanced.  Well, unbalanced in that the fact that they aren't craftable makes it mandatory to camp these bases.

i started my crafter with 0 cash and without any missions i had me own ship with hyperspace (which i found lame that they added that to all ships. and 1000$

with 1000$ you start crafting/surveying with littl emissions you can do with a CDEF pistol you can make 5k and buy enough resources to get 3-4 lvls out of it...  then you start actually havesting yourself...

or fins a guild that takes any one (they usually give away houses but instead of a house ask for a harvestor ressources easy...sell/craft wtv

as for the other non crafters missions do duty missions and get 1000k at a time + loot to grind up. you can get real good item drops necessary for your level and every time yuo lvl up yuo kill stronger mobs that give better equipment just enough to fight those and up you go till you get high enough to kill good loot mobs...

i have enough vet rewards to get me so much money but i really dont need it... since i can loot all my stuff...

i have 100k in the bank and i havent touched it (ok i touched about 75k to buy some basic decorations for my yatch (if they make POB ship dockings im turning it on im making the yatch in a cantina and droid spam it on the surface)

I've been going to Restuss for my PvP, but every server has their different hotspots...

As for the health increasing, well yeah, the stim heals for 5k.  Each from the same stim group (heals, heals over times, etc) works on the same timer though, which I think is around 30secs-1min.  They help you in a sticky situation, but if you have a whole group on you it's only prolonging the inevitable and wasting them when you can use them more efficently in 1vs1 battles or in situations where you have a chance of winning if you use it.  Only 5 use per stim as well

The saddest thing for me in the NGE was the "Magic" turn... Partical Effects, Magic Heals (Stims were great), Magic Specials & thier Magic materializing tools.

Honestly, if instead of "Scorch" in the BH Abilities they gave you a Wrist Flame Thrower Cert, added slots in each armor piece to add "attachments" like a Wrist FT, and allowed you to choose to fill that slot with that equipment and THEN gave you the ability (limited by a fuel recharge rate) I would have had a better feel for it. Same for Traps, nades, poisons, etc... heck, even Weapon Power Cells & Ammo. Making the changes I listed would make the game much more attractive IMO...

I always wanted the game to be more Grtty-Realistic Star Wars like Jedi Knight, not the Laser Light show... someone should tell Smed those went out of style in the 70's...

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
