Can you build houses in this game? Also what are the graphics like in this game? i know they are probably not as good as EQ II or anything..but are they atleast better than Runescape and World WarII Online? ...and is it a hack and slash or auto-attack like WoW and EQ II?

also...is there a way to make money in-game or is the only way to buy in-game money with RL money?

Let me start by saying that most of the bad reviews from players were deserved as a result of the terrible lag and login problems during release.  However, the lag is almost all gone now.  Aside from that, Roma Victor seems to be a game that players either love or hate, because it does not try to cater to everyone.  The developers have a vision and that is to create an authentic virtual world, that is my main draw to this game.

Yes, you can build houses.  Almost everything is craftable and historically authentic.

The graphics are realistic.  Many kids dislike the graphics because they are so used to playing cartoons like WoW and EQ, but for an authentic virtual world the realistic colors and graphics are awesome.  In fact, many of the graphics seem to be made from real-life images and are life-like.

The combat is skill and twitched based, which means you must make every attack and strategically aim your attacks too in real time.  It attempts to more closely simulate a real fight.

Yes, money can be made in-game, the best way to do it is to sell your craftables to either NPCs or players.

I dont have the exact numbers, but the Roman City of Corstopitum (modern day Corbridge) regularly has quite a population.  Lowest I've seen there is 20 or so, though I'm sure it's been lower.  Highest i've seen lately is 45+.

well i dunno how it is now but last i logged in (a week ago i think) corsto(the main roman place had at best 10 ppl with half of them afk .

I hear its lower on barb side.Tbh if you still wanna buy the game for other reason but population i say go for it.I think its wrong to not buy a game purely on population bases.I personally think there is a zillion things wrong with the game but i would not let a low population be the reason not to play a game.

If you are interested in crafting and it's counterpart trading, the selling and bartering of those crafted items, then population is important.

Or, spend the time and become a jack of all trades, that way even if you
have less people to sell to you have more of supplies to offer. Soon they will see they can rely on you and always come to you for goods.

Where there is a will there is a way.
