Hello everyone,
First of all, a gr8 thanx to all of you who participated in my previous post "GIMME 10 REASONS TO PLAY EVE". I have accepted all of your comments, suggestions, advices, concerns etc.....
In fact, i have also read all of your replies, both postive ones and negative ones. The only reason why i used CAPS is to draw everyone's attention to read it, and get the replies fast. I do know the effects of CAPS, but i will keep my future posts in a lower-case format.
Sorry if my CAPS burned some of your tiny eyez......Roflmfao! (no offense)
Honsest to say, every positive reply was a great stepping-stone for myself to begin this game, and to catch a glimpse of the EVE community and its players, so far everything so good, and i managed to understand the basics of EVE......
I'm looking forward to discover more about EVE in the future, while becoming part of this wonderful EVE community, finding more solutions to overcome the hardships of being a NOOB in EVE.....Well, respect the noobs in EVE, since every character was once a NOOB before, making fun of other noobs in the game can really hurt their feelings. Imagine how u felt when u were being made fun of when ur a noob......?
The point of this post is to emphasize the meaning of peace, kindness, and respect of other players......I believe as long as anyone is
peaceful, kind and respectful in EVE, then there would never be disputes, feuds, and hate. Being nice to other players in any MMORPG game is the unlimited resource of a stable, safe community.....Plz think twice b4 u say or intend to say anything against anyone in the game......
I will login to EVE momentarily, and i hope to see some nice players who are willing to lead me thru difficulties of this game.
As always, God bless all of you, the only way i find happiness is through respect, kindness, and peace....
"The secret of my happiness is to count my blessings while others are thinking about their insults."- Dave Liang
P.S. I also play many other MMORPG's, such as Wow, conquer online, Runescape, Ragnarok, EverQuest, SilkRoad, etc.... and now?............the top-rated EVE ONLINE!

Dude, why did you make a new thread? Why didn't you just reply to your original one.
Go away.

I play EVE and I got some bad news for you.
1. EVE is a brutal game.
2. There are players that will tell you that you can loot their can and then kill you instantly because the game allows you to kill someone who loots you can with NO penalty.
3. There are suicide gankers that will destroy your hauler in high security space. They will then be destroyed by Concord. Their friend will the loot the remains of you haulers cargo and sell it and split the money with the guy who destroyed your ship.
4. If you form a Corp when you are new another corp can declare war on you and kill you and anyone in the corp without penalty. There are people who do this every time they see a newbie corp form.
So be nice and respectful to other EVE players and it will not mean a thing.
Just thought I would let you know. So throw away those rose colored glasses and trust no one.
Have fun

Don't listen to SnaKey; he's an ebil pirate griefer.
EDIT: Oh, and EVE is a PvP game, so people shoot up each other's ships quite regularly. Some areas grant you partial protection, but remember you can still be fired upon anywhere at any time. In highsec, CONCORD will blow up the person who attacked you unless you're in a CONCORD-sanctioned war or you've taken from the person's cargo container. BTW, NEVER take from a cargo container that's not yours.

lol snakey why so mean to the poor guy.
Anyways I got a question of my own to the veterans of this game. Dont ask me why im posting in this thread but I was already here.
I want to know how hard is it for a newb to get started in this game? Im sick of being in a game and the "fun stuff" (if you can call it that in most MMOs) only starts after months of either grind or doing boring jobs. Is it at all possible for me to be able to enjoy the game right from the start?
Most people just say "Find a corporation and youll have fun" but its not that easy from what I gathered last time I tried it. I had to spam a channel looking for a corporation and ended up in one with like 8 people that were barely on and didnt really do much of anything other than solo jobs. I want to get in teams and actually do something.
This seems like it would be a really cool game to do some group projects but I have no idea on going about it or if I would be useful from the start.
Any suggestions on what I should do exactly? Maybe skills to get first or which corporations to look for? Anything would help I guess.
The big barrier to getting into a good corp will be convincing them youre not some dipshit free trial alt whos there to rob them. Try to figure out what youre interested in doing, and then do a bit of research to see which corps are best known for that kind of work - then which corps are competent at it and are willing to accept low-SP players to train (a suprising number are; I know I'd rather have someone who's trainable instead of some dipshit who spent 5 months in a starter corp and thinks his passive tank ferox is a great addition to a fast cruiser/frig gang. Those people are rarely fixable).
To be honest with you, I think EVE suffers from reverse grind - you spend a few months having a blast with cheap ships and gear in solid gangs, then realize you need to start grinding isk/SP to use those fancy t2 toys that look like fun.

This is a single best post about EVE.

My advice is not to play the game. Ppl won't like you, you won't like them (most are evil in some way or another), and you won't like the game.

For a new player it's not hard to start out in EvE Online when you start you get a tutiral I advise you to run true.
Then just make some friends and start grouping what ever you like ( Im more of a miner but you can group togheter and run some missions )
O you want a big corp ? I think those big corps wants chars who got around a 1m skillpoints.
EvE aint wow so in EvE online its your own actions who lead you "Yo cant sit laid back and wait for some one to invite you to group or corp.
Read the official forums at eve-online under corps contact those active posters there and ask them about joining there corp show some attitude " I want to be in a team " to reach a goal"
if everthing fails you can
mail Cyvok and ask if he needs another pilot " sorry Cyvok" I couldnt remember your req officers name"
Ok skills well train up frigate and spaceships command up so you can get the industrial ship skill some of the bigger corps wants haulers
Guides & Trials for EvE Online:
Well not all corps want trials or very young players in (young as in not played EVE long), however there are corps that teach new players the ropes of the game, corps like EVE-University is one ... that I can come to think of.
My corporation (I'm the CEO btw do recruit without really look at how long the player is and I have to frequently kick people out of the corp that have been inactive for months .. without telling me that they will come back.).
I do take care of their stuff if they ever do come back however... atleast for a while.
There is no problem for you to form a corp with guys you know from the noobcorp, that is how my corporation formed, we where 3 guys that had been freelancing together and simply just formed one corp to make our infrastructure more easy and cheaper.
Also be aware not to get into those corps that threat you like a slave, I remember a friend of mine did end up in a corp where he had to provide 100 000 isk a week to the corp (before Taxes came into the game), My corp is buildt up on the principles that you are free to do what you like to do, apart from one thing ... piracy.
And if there is members who want to do some mining well we can ask the other members if they want to join in, if a member loose his ship we ask members to help build a new one.
It is after all a game, not work... anything that makes this game a work is bad for us.
you. A few weeks ago our corp hangers got cleared out by a trusted
member. It's great!
In EVE the only limit to your 'fun' is the limits to your immagination. Whatever you can immagine you can do. Sure you can't run out and start taking down 1.2 million bounty BS spawns in the newbmobile you are given but you CAN, certainly, have fun right out the gate. If you want to get right into PVP that is do-able (highly recommend contacting the EVE-University or the Agony-Unleashed folks if you want to go that route). Or if you like doing missions you can do that right away as well. (NOTE: Right away meaning AFTER you do the tutorial and the missions that the tutorial leads you to. Trust me, it's worth it).
So the answer to your question is: Yes, you can have fun on day 1
But no: You won't be a solo PvP'ing machine right out the gate.
"A ship-of-war is the best ambassador." - Oliver Cromwell
Please PLEASE PLEASE dont reccomend those AGONY noobs. Our corp and a close ally war dec'd them, and they just ran scared and docked, and only engaged if they had 2 or 3 times as many numbers, and we would ALWAYS come out on top. They cant get their jobs done if their life depended on it, and all of their FCs suck ass.
