That is the kind of forum activity I expect on a regular basis. But it is nothing more than a forum post they used as a substitute for scedualed information updates on ign and warcy. This is not cool. I'd call this smoke up our collective arses
I doubt they will be able to even begin beta testing this year. All kinds of fantacy games in development and nothing but crap to play.
Without even a hint for beta, it seems DF is still a year or two off =(
I wonder is it cause their on a limited budget or there's a lot of bugs?
I say TAKE YOUR TIME!!! I mean look at Dark and Light and how pathetic that release was. So buggy and conceptually flawed it made Shadowbane look like actual decent release.
If they release DF too early before it's ready i will break down !
It's surprising that the graphics look OK. All the time the game has been in development, I would think that the graphics would start to show their age. Compared to some mmorpg that are being turned-around much quicker, Darkfall will look dated, but if the gameplay stands up, do we really care?
Well, I do. I remember playing Diablo II and thinking how aweful the graphics were for the time, and as I progressed through the game, they actually got a little better. This showed just how long it took Blizzard to make the game.
I think in todays long development for mmorpg, a very upgradable graphics engine is necessary, because after the 3 or 4 years (or more) of development, the graphics will look old for release time compared to the standard.
What camera view will Darkfall have? Darkfall will have a first-person camera view. Probably the most debated issue in our team, with strong points both for and against. We settled for first-person view because we believe this view gives the most immersed gaming experience, the most nerve wrecking combat situations, and the most beautiful view of our landscape and dungeons. o.O
Speaking about graphics is it me or does some of the screen shots look like cut and paste graphics. I mean look one of the screen shots where the land meets the water. Kinda looks like, on a graphic engine, you just plopped the land with no regard to make it a seemless transition.
Is there anyy interaction between the landscape and your character? Or is it just, "It looks nice but you can't touch anything nor does it serve any purpose".

Which then switches to a narrow third-person view for melee combat,or when mounted. I think that still remains the case.
I'll admit I'd like it to have a toggle, but meh I'll get used to it over time.

Main page has been working fine for me (my bookmark at home goes to the homepage, not the forums directly).
As far as the topic, I'm glad to see more interaction, of course, we're starved for it. Hope it is a continuing thing.

Graphics were reworked (at least for characters) after the transition to Aventurine. If you look, you can find the old picture of an alfar, which will not look much like what we see when we finally see them. I believe once we see Alfar, beta isn't far off.

It'll be nice if Tasos keeps up this kind of straight-from-the-source communication.

Those graphics impressed me a lot more than some other things I've seen from Darkfall so far. Or maybe I have a dwarven beard fetish.
