I'm partial to the Forsaken in WoW. I've loved skeletons as monsters since forever, and being able to play one (more or less) was awesome, but their specific backstory and motivations make them stand out a bit against lots of generic elves, dwarves, monster races with warrior cultures, etc. in the fantasy genre. A Forsaken shadowpriest was my primary character in WoW almost since I started playing it at the TBC release. I played the class and spec because I originally liked the gameplay, but it also fits the race as well as any IMO.
My Orc Hunter and stunning looking Wolf standing in his Lodge complete with antlers, in his new revised Graphical state, from the new Warcraft that is being overhauled by bodies busier than Santa's Helper's as we speak....hehehe
Nicest thing about the fem dwarves--they're an excellent place to hide away from the hormone-brigade teens.

Unlinke your actual avatar.
Apparently, I've offended a teen.
offended ? Teen ?
Dam' we really should work on our communication issues you and I...
You avatar is not offending at all since I'm the "old perv" mentionned... and I love pink ice-creams...

I think to often we focus on negative things about MMO's here. So here is a simple question (well two really).
What is your favorite class and race out of all of the MMO's you have played?
My favorite class is easily the EQ enchanter, I just love the ability to enchant humanoids and make them my companions and
the ability to disguise myself as other races was tons of fun. I would love to see a class like this in newer MMOs.
My favorite race is from Allods, though I don't particularly care for the game I think the Gibberlings are a genius design. I have not seen as unique or creative of a race in any other MMOs.
You asked from ANY game but you are very specific about your preference. Did not know wow, swtor, aoc, ... had eq enchanters and allods race. :-)
Otherwise in wow I guess have all Draenei wherever possible (with exception of warrior that is elf) in other games usually for sure elves. :-)
I can't narrow it down because i enjoy for example in FFXI all the classes and races.I guess i used to be a Ranger fanatic but lately i enjoy Beastmaster the best.Eq2 i love Shadowknight and Barbarians.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Negatives: Too small. Should be choices for small, medium, tall with body fat. I don't like playing characters that look like kids, so more mature, but still the same face and ears.
Favourite class:
WoW Druid (feral and resto, but balance is one of the worst talents in mmos)
Positives: Each race has different skins, lots of imagination derived from beasts in abilities that actually work, DoTs and HoTs, great move movement - doesn't feel immovable while fighting/healing, except that when in feral you can't switch your combo points to someone else.
Negatives: Flight form could be removed so people can show off their rare flying mounts. Bear form should be exclusive to Guardian tree, and give more defense abilities to cat form. Just another stance with new ability bar.
So, yeah. If an Asura Druid existed in a game, that would be my first choice.
Class? I heart Shadowknights in EQ1. I loved how they just were Necros with a bunch of levels below their magic. I ran around with a skeleton pet permanently... Melee + Pet = Awesome. And skeletons? Awesome.
If I may submit a second class: DaoC Bonedancer. I loved the bone boss and having multiple pets that follow him . Loved how I could choose the classes of those pets like how I wanted.
Played a solitus keeper in AO for about 6 years off and on, the versatility of solo/group/raid play including DPS/tank, fit my personal play style almost perfectly. Sadly haven't found a replacement that gives me the same feeling of playing that profession.
I agree with many of the posters here. Everquest Iksar is by far the best race of any mmorpg. I am also fond of Taurens in WOW. But by far the coolest race ever is Iksar!
They had AoE thunder and with Comp and some med boxes you could tank it too. I suppose the fact that I knew the class and the character I was playing like the back of my hand was key but I never felt timid about doing what I knew he could do and I never had that envy of other classes. I was happy in my niche.
Human Archer (PoE - yes I know there's only one real "race")

On a somewhat related note, I was disappointed that there was never a Tuskar race in WoW. Yeah, I said it. I would have loved to be a Tuskar Paladin. I know, I have a thing for paladins.
Human Confessor from Shadowbane. Good healer, and could absolutely nuke the crap out of anything. Plus the lore behind it was fantastic, as was the lore for the game in general.
It's a sad day indeed when a family is too afraid of reprisals to publicly thank somebody for saving their lives.
I think my favorite class is either Bloodmage in Vanguard or Shaman in WoW.
I don't think I have a favorite race. Maybe the Mon Calamari in SWG? I liked the Tauren in WoW.
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

Classes: Vanguard Monk, FFXI Ranger, EQ1 Beastlord, Vanilla WoW Rogue, Baldur's Gate Cleric
Races: All EQ1 Races, aka high fantasy setting.
Vanguard's Bloodmage.
I love playing healers and mages and this class was very satisfying for me to play. Shame I didn't like the actual game as a whole.
As for races, always human. I've never been a real fan of "fantasy" races.

My favorite race is particularly orcs but maybe trolls too? Orcs just interest me a lot especially the ones from Warcraft III.
For my favorite class it's always gonna be either a berserker class or a summoner, whichever comes first.

Favourite race: Asura (GW2)
Positives: Smart, cute and bitchy.
Negatives: Too small. Should be choices for small, medium, tall with body fat. I don't like playing characters that look like kids, so more mature, but still the same face and ears.

The most fun I've ever had was playing a Turga female mdps cleric in the Lime Odyssey Alpha tests (what seems like) forever ago.
Sigh, I wish they would hurry up and get the NA version ready again.
