No way im playing at launch, unless they paid me to.  They would have to pay me 15 bucks a month to play this game.

These are probably the worst quest i have ever done in a MMO, and trust me i have played many. i tried hard to get to level 10 to see the pvp but i just cant do it anymore after 8 levels of this mind numbing trash quest i uninstalled the beta.

it would be one thing if the combat was fun but its terrible and clunky. the animations are not very good, and i could go on and on but i wont the fanbois are already going to attack me just for this.

Thank god for betas going to save myself some money.

While i really love the mature style of the game (no cleavage female armors! wohoo!) the 60 euros + 15 per month is quite a steep pricing model for me.

The box price is quite high my region-wise (60E = 200+ z?, when average income in poland is something like 1200-1400z? or 350E) plus i dont have time to milk my subsciption (working, studying whatnot)

If it would be buy to play i would gladly invest in it. IF there would be no boxprice and sub - i would consider it for month or two.

Other than that - I just can't justify wasting this kind of money for maybe 1-2 month of expierience.

And yes i'm spoiled by the digital sales - bundles, discounts and so on...

I tested the game this weekend allot, i gave this game another try but this is not for me.

Too bad, i would have liked another MMO to sink my teeth into but this ain't the one.

Nope, I played the beta and it just didn't do anything for me. I won't rule it out as a game I won't play, just not right now.

You can buy the Standard Edition from GreenManGaming for $48 which works everywhere. That's what i did as well and so did a lot of others. There is no region lock on the keys.

    CORRECTION!

GMG recently included regional pricing SO no dollars for me! Pounds for Poland which (to be honest) is the worst available currency! And we are in European Union, but still our salarys matches ones from the eastern europe FTW!:P

So unforunately if i wish to pay in $ i must go trough proxy and so on:P

    Shame

    PS

in uplay store ESO standard costs about 240zl ( divide by about 3 and you will get more or less 80 dollars for standard edition - fair enough?)

Have to say this being first foray into elder scrolls I,m impressed.Lots of depth to characters in terms of being able to use any weapon,in terms of skills, crafting and exploring.I,m not sure if its just me but it seems to be a lot slower in the levelling up process.

Also like the way the game looks .decided to purchase. This will be one game where it takes me about a year to get one char at max lvl I would think.I am never in a rush with any game otherwise I just make myself sick of it.

Hmm that sucks. Well there are CD key seller sites then as a last resort. I know a few trustworthy ones and i have bought tons of stuff from them without any issues.

NO Away !  Don't get me wrong i like it a little... i'm wouldn't pay a SUB for it ! the game need more grouping with friends and when i was playing seems more like a running SIM ! question i have was "GOT MOBS" nothing to kill and that's in beta. when it's releases 100 times more players Ks'ing you and killing the 3 -4 mobs you need for your quest. The just seems dated some cheat mmo from like 2001 to hyped ! they failed in making a MMO !

Is it mine after I pay the digital download price? No? Okay, count me out of this one.

After half a year the game will become F2P. In fact ESO is the same antisocial questing grind fest like GW2 and… WildStar. If you want to play a real MMORPG subscribe for ArcheAge in Russian servers. Right now there is no other new MMORPG on the market. And I will wait for Black Desert Online.

With the minor difference that Guild Wars 2 has no quests. Did you even play the game to compare it with this ..... called TESO? o.O

I won't be playing at launch. Until the combat and phasing issues have been fixed, I'll be avoiding this title. It has the foundation for a solid game but it's not quite there and I don't feel it's worth a subscription in it's current stage.

  • Trueforral1Trueforral1 Member UncommonPosts: 35

I won't be playing it at launch. Not because I feel it's a bad game that isn't worth my time, but because I feel the pricing model is deceptive. The box price is abnormally high, it's got day one DLC and probably additional DLC down the line, and on top of it all an added subscription fee.

The price compared to other games it competes against acts as a barrier, keeping a lot of potential players out of the game, and Zenimax *must* know that. When they still choose to set these prices, I can only presume it is because they plan to take advantage of the loyal fans that buy the special-limited editions on launch, pay their subscription fees and buy their DLC, only to then suddenly turn around and say "Good news everyone! We're going free-to-play!" once they drained every bit of money they can out of the early adopters.

It's a trend I see all too often among MMOs. Back in the day it seemed more like an acceptable emergency reaction to the changing online gaming climate, but these days it seems planned from square one.

ESO will fall worse than SWTOR  and ESO may never recover  Zinnmax  has Killed  TES

Ok here goes, I hope I do not get bashed as it's just my opinion.

I pre-order the game, I am a hardcore Oblivion and Skyrim fan, I love ES lore and games.

I played the beta weekend, gave the game some time, I saw it as an MMO and no an ES game.

And I hated it, and got bored at every stage, I hated phasing and I felt the game was old and clunky and I was playing some subpar F2P game that was churned out quickly so that they could sell micro transactions.

I cancelled my pre-order. I wanted to love this game with all my heart and I have been waiting for it since it was announced.

Have fun anyone else who enjoyed it and will play it at launch.

Totally not the case, because these forums in general receive a lot more hate from compulsive obsessive individuals whose names I'm not allowed to post here lol and this site in general has a lot more jaded sandbox folks.

GW2 has no quests? What are you drinking dude or you are just high? Anet invented so called dynamic quests, which make questing grind a real grind. And there is not only dynamic but story line quests too. In fact GW2 is very similar to ESO, not only in DAoC PVP style, lack of competition and missing 1vs1 PvP, but in leveling too.

You should really play the game before bashing it falsely of course. There are no dynamic quests, there are dynamic events. If anything your only "quest" in game is the personal story which is actually an awesome quest. It action-packed quest with a nice narrative. You must've been hit hard in the head if you claim that Gw2 is a grindy game. Sure it does have grindy parts for the folk that enjoy the grind, but after obtaining the best-in-slot gear just 2 weeks after headstart makes all your arguments invalid.

And don't even let me start on the competition aspect because that's what sPvP is for, in there you can also create your own arenas and password protect them - thus -> 1vs1 or w/e you want.

Do play the game before stating your uninformed and biased opinion. kkthxbye troll

not gonna be playing this game unfortunately... theres just too many personal things i prefer and they are lacking in this game.

    1.  game/graphical designs dont look comfortable for this IP. it should lean more towards adult players than cater kids. characters and armors look really scrawney.  armor especially looks like swimmingsuits, they are like your second skin in this game. ive seen pajamas look more bulky. some characters you can make in this game look like straight from disney movie. also, i didnt see blood in this game and i bet only thing this game is k18 is probably that one character in this game might mention about certain sugar and how to make this narcotic called "Skooma". otherwise this game would probably be k10 game. absolutely hate the kiddish designs of mmos nowadays.. also i hate the fact i cant play with my friends cos they want to play their girly elfs and i want to be orc  >____>

    2. animations - yeah, just like many others, i absolutely detest the animations in this game. youve heard it from others already. just floaty swinging of swords. you move like silk and sword moves like it must weight less than a kilo. absolutely no meaty movement where you can really feel like character is made of meat and bone, and sword or hammer slashing where it actually feels like it weights what its suppose to. i dont understand why no one uses real swordsmen to capture the movements for fighting animations...

    3. pvp - correct me if im wrong but ive been in understanding that the only mode we have right now as far as pvp goes, is the zergfest where individual skill means nothing and the winners are the faction who come up with bigger numbers. also no point playing anything else than ranged classes because your melee fighter will die in a flash if you decide to jump into the frey. these sieges have never been anything else than 1325235 mages precasting areas and killing everything. i really dont understand why people are always so excited about the castle sieges in mmos. atleast one worthy mention about this game sieges are that this game moves pretty well even when ton of people and action in the screen.

    4. Combat overall... its just dull and if you get this thing done wrong, the game is going to feel repetitive pretty damn fast. i really liked AoC combat and the mocap animations for the skills. funcom really did pretty decent work on that aspect. enemies just stand out there to be killed by you and other than wolfs calling out for their pack to help them against you, nothing really surprised me in the combat scenes...

well... i guess it would not be right to mention some things i actually did like in the game. most of the soundtracks in the game are pretty good. also voiceacting is decent, actually identified the voice of john cleese and im damn sure that one voice was steve blum's work. graphics are good for an mmo and enviroment looks from okiesh to decent most of the places. i was really surpised how well my 3 years old computer ran when i was in pvp... there was ton of people and lot of stuff going on and the game was playable the whole time which was very nice surprise. other than few bugs during quests and getting stuck on npc when talking, i didnt really find too much crazy ass bugs in the game.. certainly one mmo of the less bugs ive been betatesting. also maps seem to be full of questing and stuff to see, im sure there are lot of people who will find this game full of stuff to do for some time.  im still waiting for my game to come up somewhere, sometime ... hopefully sooner than later

What kind of bias poll is this?

Final verdict. This product in my eyes is not fit for launch. Nor is it worthy for a subscription model. Even if you like this game. You should feel insulted that you are expected to pay monthly for this.

I will not be playing this at launch.

Calling it a poll for a simple enough question (will you play at launch or not) then attaching something like that seems kind of weird

  • 5ubzer05ubzer0 Member UncommonPosts: 72

Yes, my brother and I just pre-ordered after playing the beta weekend. We are not super impressed, but at the very least the game seems fun enough to justify playing it for a while.

Our main reason for picking up ESO is that sadly no other game we're interested in will be released this year. Until something more pvp focused (not Grindstar) goes live, we'll be playing this one.

  • iamrtaiamrta Member UncommonPosts: 165

I couldn't make it past level 4. Just  couldn't be interested. Was hoping first person would "feel right" to me and draw me in but it felt janky and tacked on. Also, just same old dead, lifeless npc's that I've come to abhor in Bethesda games.

So a no for me.  Just didn't hook me. (Please don't tell me to grind to level 20 before making an opinion, that's like eating 3/4 of a burger and sending it back to the cook. I didn't like it at the first bite.)

  • isanderSWGisanderSWG Member Posts: 37

Yeah, because my friends are playing and I want to play with them.  Most everything I found annoying before is still annoying.  PVP reminds me of the Warhammer single player game from a number of years ago.

Am gratified that another thread which seemed to encourage questing at the same level you were wasn't the whole story.  Seems like being under-leveled by 3-5 levels doesn't necessarily mean a wipe.

I will play 1 or 2 months, maybe even 3 and see if we can get some fun out of it...
