After the debacle of DA2 and ME3, Satan will be ice-skating his way to work before I give EA any of my money. Many, many sites gave Dragon Age 2 the same type of glowing reviews / previews, only for myself and many others to discover that the good qualities were exaggerated, and the bad ones were either downplayed, glossed over, or completely ignored. In fact I would even go so far as to state that DA2's reviews stand even today as proof positive that publishers do, in fact, pay for positive press.
I'll stick with The Witcher games for immersive RPGs. They deliver exactly what they promise and earn their good reviews by being good games, rather than by CDProjekt stuffing dollar bills down reviewers' figurative g-strings.
Note: Not accusing this site or Suzie of anything, merely relating my experience and POV in general.
Each to their own... Yet to me games are on a case by case basis, I didn't like DA: 2 either all that much, yet it wasn't bad enough for me to write off an entire studios future products. ME3 was pretty good IMO didn't have much of a prob with the ending I saw either. Granted I didn't play it until the summer of this year... so maybe something changed.
I'd also say I found The Witcher 2 to not be nearly as good as most reviews made it out to be. It was decent but not nearly as grand as many make it out to be...On top of that the game ran like crap. The Witcher 1 was also poorly optimized.

So excited. So much so that my husband and I ordered one for xbox one and one for pc so we can both play at the same time. Bioware is the king of the single player rpg and I can't wait. This is the kind of stuff we've all been looking for in MMO's for years.

The king said they were inspired by Skyrim, then bethesda must be the god of single player rpg
Don't turn it into a Bethesda vs bioware war. They make different RPGs and I enjoy both. Bethesda makes great sandbox games but the characters, gameplay and story are crap.
I have been playing Bioware games for quite a while, my favourites probably Mass Effect 1, but i enjoyed ME2 also, and Dragon age;origins, but then DA;2 happened, and ME3, both are games i avoided buying because i just did not like how they played, they did look good though, as for SW;TOR, i am still subbed to and play the game regularly, so i do know they can make good games.
I don't know if DA;I is going to reclaim the crown that DA;2 lost for the Dragon Age series, i hope it does, so far the graphics look pretty good, but i have yet to see anything that would encourage me to buy it, i think i'll be waiting for the 'Lets Play'ers for the final decision to buy or not to buy, wouldn't be the first time those guys saved me some money, or made me spend some too, on a game i had no idea was any good, it was only after watching Olizandri playing the 'Last Story' on the Wii that made me go buy a copy, and yeah, it was on the Wii... how crazy is that
How dare this be a good game with the Wow expac out in a two days.. How very dare it.
On the plus side when I do get round to playing it it will likey be cheaper.. I hope its more like 2 and not as boring as 1
Your hope will apparently, and thankfully, not be realised, given the steaming pile of detritus that was DA2... that said, I too will be waiting until any bugs are fixed before diving into the game, although given the fact that modders are the best fixers of Bioware stuff, and this game would seem to preclude them, that may be a long way down the track...
Me too. Really loved the first one. Finished the second one after taking a long break, wasn't a lot of fun. With the trend of so many companies releasing games half finished because they know they can fix stuff later. I'll wait.

I'll be waiting for a significant discount on Steam. People praise the original Dragon Age, but I consider it one of the most boring RPGs I've ever played. For me personally, Bioware hasn't released a good RPG since the original Neverwinter Nights, which was fantastic only due to the toolset, not their own campaign.
The game is ON. I have it pre-loaded, got my weapons from inquests and I am so tempted to start it tonight, but then I know I am not going to go to bed all night and I am not going to enjoy it as much as after good night sleep. The problem is if I will be able to fall asleep /grin.
9 PM PST and allowed to play the game and I have one thing to say to confirm the review.. My goodness gracious the shine on the armor, flesh and most horrible of all the hair.. My eyes can't look at these character models very long tonight.. I do hope they patch this and soon.
OK just a few things that didn't show up in this or any reviews I read:
1: Their is NO MOUSE-DRIVEN MOVEMENT! That's right, you have to hold down the "W" key to move while holding down the right mouse button to turn.
2: Their is NO WALK TOGGLE! You will always be running in this game.
3: When you target an enemy (using TAB or just left-clicking on it) YOU WILL NOT AUTO MOVE TO IT TO ATTACK! You have to use the "W" key to move to it to attack. You hold down the left mouse button for sustained attacking. But if your target has the gall to move away from you, you will not follow it. You have to press "W" again to move to it.
These may not seem like a big deal but trust me, if you have played more than a few RPG's this will trouble you, especially the first point. I am VERY disappointed so far in this game (played about 4 hours so far).

The no walk toggle is the only thing that bothers me and only a little bit and I'm thinking that not being able to walk while on a mount might cause some steering/control issues , as for the others they are exactly how I play Skyrim... I know this isn't Skyrim and both previous DA games had the click on enemy and auto move to them to attack, so I'm sure for some DA fans this could be an issue, but for those that played "other" Rpg's, it shouldn't be an issue.

I hope you are right. I am a big Bioware fan in general, more so with DA IP. It was just a warning. To me it just makes combat tedious and a bother. I hope I get used to it in the 100+ hours I will supposedly be playing

I was waiting DA:I a long time, but after a second thought i ll give it sometime before i purchase it. I ll wait for players comments and a good price offer. If the game stands up to the hype i ll bypass price offer and buy it, but for sure i ll wait for players comments and impressions.

This ^^ X 10.
The day I trust an "official" review here, is the day blue freaking monkeys fly out of my butt wearing jetpacks.
Any bets on whether or not you can buy this "bestest game eva" when you hit the "store" button on MMORPG.com? (And they will get a piece of any sale, no doubt.)
Well, running a great gaming rig, I've already run into two (apparently) common, gamebreaking issues and I haven't even started any of the actual gameplay yet.
My voices don't work so I can't test my character's voice or hear any of the story. And even if I'm willing to slog through it like that, I just get Direct X errors and crash out.
i was hoping that i will play some good rpg but after reading and watching some streams seems not
game is kidna disappointment
fight encounters are terrible all you need to do is press left mouse button and spam skills of cooldown, no tactics needed just smash the buttons for the win
game world is not that open as devs was talking about sure you can try and explore a bit but if you try and go away from storyline path you figth monsters that kill you in few hits becouse thier level is way higher than yours
After playing Dragon Age 1 and 2 over the past few days, Inquisition doesn't feel like a Dragon Age game. They have completely changed much of the game.
Not sure whether or not it's good or bad yet. Still getting used to everything. The controls feel a bit off. I hate that you can't use tab to highlight things any more. I also don't like that you can't just click on an enemy or object to engage. Instead you have to move towards it.
