I know its mostly opinionated, but is there any way to prove which games require the most skill/synergy? Im not sure I made that sound very clear to what im wanting to say.
basically, i have played all the games throughout the years, from mmo's, to fps, to tabletop, to real sports, and so on. in my experience currently, the moba genre provides the best grounds to show skill as a player, as that human behind the keyboard doing all his on the spot number crunching and using knowledge to best your opponent. i mean, you could argue fps's do this quite well too, if not on the same caliber.
idk thats just me though.. to me the moba provides the best grounds for representation of a players ability, currently..
is there any actual science behind what im trying to get at?
Just ignore it... Those kind of people seek attention and want to argue like idiots than play the game. Never let other people dictate if you will play the game or not. It's just like in life you will always have someone complaining about something but let it roll off your back and never feed into it. Play the game and have fun and remember those kind of people are the same people that log off and hate life too. It reminds me of the Sherdog and the people that feel entitled to everything crowd. Comical...
The simple fix is to not PUG any MOBA. Then you can't get flamed, etc. Unfortunately in any competitive game, especially the MOBA genre with leagues and cash prizes, these unfortunate souls who think they are good (who obviously aren't on a team, most likely because of their overall personality at its core is a douchebag x10) can get away with their lack of social skills.
On the flip coin, I get they don't want to spend 20-30minutes getting pounded, but at the same time, if you don't want that, don't pug queue.
To be honest it's only natural to get frustrated. I think in the beginning you don't get as annoyed by people's stupidity but once you play for a while and you see the same shit repeated over and over and over and over x10000000000000000 again you tend to get annoyed.
The problem dota has is that you can't surrender like that other game. What that means is that often you may be stuck with the worst players known to man kind for 30 minutes and you can't even leave, afk or whatever. And because public games are full of people who will farm like there is no tomorrow games get unnecessarily prolonged. When you have limited time to play it gets super annoying when you play 2 games where in both games you have someone feeding from minute 1 and at minute 10 all hope is los because the enemy carry is beyond godlike. Then you spend another 30 minutes wasting your life.
Do you get it why people get really annoyed in MOBAs? What I described doesn't happen once. It can happen all the time. After a while you just start to get annoyed at the morons who can barely even control their heroes.
Why don't I play with my friends? I do. My most memorable dota games are when I play 5 man stack cap mode with real life friends. But I don't need to remind you that people are busy and have different schedules etc. so it's very difficult to organise to play at the same time.
Since I'm still fairly new to DOTA 2 I'm in the very low bracket for match making. It's difficult to tell sometimes whether somebody is intentionally feeding or they're just new and don't know how to play yet. I can't fault them for the latter. I'm only recently starting to get decent K/D/A, GPM and XPM numbers myself. The biggest problem I'm encountering with pub games is players abandoning matches. It happens more often than not. The only good part is that the match is then safe to leave so you don't need the surrender option.
I try to stay in the mindset of trying to improve my skill no matter what my team is doing. I find if you worry too much about everybody elses poor performance you ignore your mistakes.

I'm going to come at this from a different angle. Nasty players taking over tells me a lot. Granted I don't play WoW anymore but I'm not here to knock it either. Nasty players and commenting on this website tells me a lot. WoW is still going strong because this game has PASSION. Good or bad people are still emotionally attached to the game. Frustration, emotional attachment to how the game could be says it all for me as an observer. How does this gaming community fix their problem? No clue and I could care less because in my mind this game will move on regardless of the player base.
Go try Dota 2, then you will see what a toxic community is. Had to stop playing that game because it was having a negative impact on my health lol. HotS people hardly speak in many of the games I've played (non ranked).
It should be abundantly clear to everyone on the internet by now; Angry German Kid needs to be retitled Every Other Kid. Because he's far more common than you assume...and he's 40!
I can't remember the last time I was harassed by "toxic" players. That isn't to say that it doesn't happen but I think it would be best to balance out some of the rampant funposting here.
Moba games are just extremely toxic in general as most of the people who swear want you to follow THEIR best idea of a strategy but they expect you to follow it even if they never take anytime to explain it to you.
The rest are just children testing their limits and because you can't really do much to them online they continue going.
I will begin with the caveat that I have not played WoW, or any other MMORPG for quite some time. Nevertheless, isn't the entire point of playing such games to have a good time? When I did play WoW, or UO, the most interesting aspect was forming friendships and just the general camaraderie. It wasn't about "winning" or competition. The people I played with (including me) weren't the best, but we had a great time; the adventure, the playful banter, the acceptance, the celebration of successes and condolences and forgiveness when mistakes or simple misfortune struck. What happened to simple politeness, basic dignity and mutual respect? The anonymity of the internet is no excuse. This is not to say that competition is necessarily a negative thing, only that it should be trumped by understanding and compassion and simple good will.
Having been through a number of natural disasters in the last few years, one recent incidence particularly terrible, and having helped (and currently helping) during such an event, I cannot but wonder at the petty, self-concerned, unenlightened mindset of such individuals. It is, unfortunately, probably an incurable disorder. One would hope that all such cases are the sign of youth, though even this is no excuse, and likely not the primary cause.
I am not sure about some, but when I did play such games, I played them as a distraction, a momentary escape from actual, real world issues (these do truly exist for those players not yet acquainted...and for those acquainted...again, no excuse, even less of an excuse). I played them to enjoy a few hours of excitement and joy with fellow minded individuals...individuals who did not judge me, and whom I did not judge. It must be a sad state of affairs when such games take on an importance capable of rendering one an incurable asshole (though such individuals likely started there in the first place). It is likely that such people have never truly experienced hardship and loss.

Probably me, but I always find it highly amusing to see such self entitled children that crown themselves leaders, and then fk it up for them by spoiling the match, and then eat popcorn while reading the emorages.

I've found it closer to 87% d-bs

Absolutely not unique to HotS or Blizzard games.

Gamers in competition are terrible losers.

And I primarily do loot based PVP.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
