Okay let's answer the first part of this. Chris Roberts is NOT my developer. I think if you asked around you would find that I have been very critical of Star Citizen not reaching it's Goals and Chris Roberts making promises he didn't keep with regard to the FPS module. I am Not a backer of the game.
So the irrational behavior seems to be following the alleged evidence of the Escapist magazine. So far they have not answered CIG's letter or shown to the journalist press any of their evidence.
You accuse people of Cult like behavior. I think that can be said of both camps and since I reside in neither I don't think I qualify.

The one FACT I do know the Escapist wrote a good article and CR hasn't done one thing to counter it other than a letter sounding like a mad man who was pissed. The fact he hasn't done anything to show the story is false makes it all true. Or do you see it different?

Gone six hours at a fundraiser, drinking too much IPA and gorging myself on pork products. So, what did I miss? Did the CIG detractors get any proof to backup their accusations or is it still their intuition plus anonymous sources from the Escapist?
Nope. Sandi did a great job with her speech and i am really impressed with how she expertly weaved in the accusations, great acting and re-enforcement of the church of StarCitizen movement by proclaiming that it is much more than just a game, it's a religion (she did not say that but it was very close). You need to watch it. It was beautiful. I am dead serious, that was some of the most impressive counter marketing i have seen in a long time!
Chris Roberts also weaved in some jabs at the accusations when talking about employee numbers among other things. I just can't listen to the guy for long, his nasal high pitched voice just gives me the creeps so i turned him down for most of the time.
The preview of the Alpha 2.0 (no timeline not even "this year" or "next year") was very good. It looks like that if anything the whole controversy has pushed them towards releasing a game now and building on it. It was quite impressive for the early stages this must be in. Of cause the frame rates where horrible and the network syncing problems quite obvious at times but this is to be expected. Animations still need a lot of work and they need to get rid of the annoying head bobbing.
The Squadron 42 Demo was boring. I was never a fan of the long winded cut-scene, play a movie, type games. It looked nice and all but not my type of game.
Overall i thought it was a very successful presentation. You have to watch it.

These Escapist sources are the same ones who are accusing CIG of discriminatory hiring practices. I'm assuming you've watched the Star Citizen youtube videos which show both Black employees and those over the age of 40? What reputation is the Escapist risking at this point? I think a lot of people already know their journalism is dog shit. Which other major gaming site is publicizing the view point of these awesome "sources" right now? I'd like to see a reputable site putting their balls on the chopping block over this before I consider taking it seriously.

One side initiated a campaign of naysaying against something a lot of people were excited about. It's unclear how many people are involved in this, but it's obviously not as large a group as the 1 million people who are vested in the outcome. This side is not vested in the outcome, they simply like throwing wet blankets on other people's enjoyment.
The people who felt targeted by the hateful trolls responded as they became aware of the negativity. They are a "side" only in that they need to get together to put an end to what they perceive as an attack on them. They aren't nearly as cohesive a group as the attackers.
Then there are other people who are not on these "sides", as the attackers wish to frame everything. There are many more people who are sick of seeing trolls and negative nonsense carried out simply for the shadenfreude of seeing other people's hopes and dreams dashed to pieces. This is why the air of creepiness is rising about the attackers- people are sensing the internalized hatred that the haters have.
Then there's Derek Smart who wants to take charge of the attackers, the negative nellies, and who thinks he can Derek Smart his way into control of someone else's achievements again. This isn't going to happen. But what he did contribute was the absolute disgusting display of defamation which was then picked up by the Star Citizen haters.
He carried on with the Escapist, a website where a bunch of people post their opinions about things. This site styles its content as journalism, while displaying not a scintilla of journalistic integrity. Instead, they create their own little ClickGate and publish scurrilous accusations of criminal behavior sans evidence or even credible witnesses, and then "stand by" their so called article.
To get this Derek thing out of the way I suggest you watch this video... in its full length and then tell me what you saw in an objective way. I keep my opinion for myself at this point.

I watched the last 5 minutes earlier today and saw the same old Mr. Smart I've known for a long time. Half-truths, denial, lying; no accountability for his own actions. He counts on everyone's ignorance as a corner stone to every argument he presents. If he invested half as much energy into his own games as he does trying to fuck with other people he might actually produce something that people want to play. But no. He bans everyone who offers him valid criticism on his own games then directs his energy to ruining other people's work.

From the livestream it is clear to me that Star Citizen is going exactly where I want it. This is what I funded, and I am getting something well worth the donations I have given!
The game looks to become amazing, and as I see it the delays are justified when I see how they have upgraded, polished and enhanced upon what we have seen previously.
Since I am only really informed about Derek Smart and his special quest, I can at least say Chris Roberts has described him and his actions accurately. Chris Roberts seems perfectly reasonable in his attempt to refute the allegations. That being said, everyone could be lying for all we know, so screw it. I call shenanigans on everyone!

I think we have talked about this already. Just because you did something is not an argument that you do it again. It simply is not. That is like saying you don't have to proof you filed your taxes just because you did the last 10 years. Is it reasonable to assume that you would do it again? Yes, but it's not a fact.
I won't go into the mud slinging against The Escapist because they are as shitty as any gaming press. They are all not real journalists and they are all feeding on the tit of the industry that pays them.
What is a reputable site for you. Give me an example.

Thats why cons work because it is easy to con someone but IMPOSSIBLE to convince someone they got conned.
Thats why I dont even bother talking about SC anymore I knew it was a scam from jump street. But everything I said the last time I went on a tirade about it has been prove to be completely true and before its over about 99% of what I said about the whole situation will be shown to be accurate.
I have never been the guys who says hate to say I told you so because I revel in it. Because the world is full of way too many stupid people and for that reason alone shit like this will continue to take place.
I am a backer myself and i rather have any misconduct discovered right now and action being taken to salvage the game before it is too late. I want this game to be finished as much as the next person but i do not blindly follow.

The people who felt targeted by the hateful trolls responded as they became aware of the negativity. They are a "side" only in that they need to get together to put an end to what they perceive as an attack on them. They aren't nearly as cohesive a group as the attackers.
Then there are other people who are not on these "sides", as the attackers wish to frame everything. There are many more people who are sick of seeing trolls and negative nonsense carried out simply for the shadenfreude of seeing other people's hopes and dreams dashed to pieces. This is why the air of creepiness is rising about the attackers- people are sensing the internalized hatred that the haters have.
Then there's Derek Smart who wants to take charge of the attackers, the negative nellies, and who thinks he can Derek Smart his way into control of someone else's achievements again. This isn't going to happen. But what he did contribute was the absolute disgusting display of defamation which was then picked up by the Star Citizen haters.
He carried on with the Escapist, a website where a bunch of people post their opinions about things. This site styles its content as journalism, while displaying not a scintilla of journalistic integrity. Instead, they create their own little ClickGate and publish scurrilous accusations of criminal behavior sans evidence or even credible witnesses, and then "stand by" their so called article.
That's what has happened so far.
Back to to the important things. Once again... criticism is good and needed to keep things in line IF done in an appropriate, logical and profound way.
You anti people are somehow emotionally attached to something you do not like. What would be better for you? Ignore what you do not like and concentrate on the things in your life that you like and make you happy.
It is important to say like and happy in one sentence. Because if you like to see evil around every corner than this will not make you happy. And I for myself are not in this world to not be happy. That's the purpose of life next to passing my genes onto the next generation.
And saying "I want my answers now" is immature. I want the game now... can I have it? No it's not ready yet. Are we there yet? I want an ice! Why aren't we there yet Dad?
If if you are mature then you might life in constant fear of loosing something even if it is not an important part of your life.

"LOD is a complete vision, a complete game - nothing is missing..." yet he admits no aircraft yet, effects (explosions, etc) in LOD 20 minutes earlier in the same video.
It's amazing how he doesn't see himself digging himself into a deeper whole the more he tries to explain the difference between releasing an unfinished game through AE and SC doing crowdfunding.
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

The game looks to become amazing, and as I see it the delays are justified when I see how they have upgraded, polished and enhanced upon what we have seen previously.
