My FPS ability is pretty bad. However, I enjoy most Blizzard games. Is there anything that sets OW apart from other FPS games that might allow me to play decently for a change? Or is it standard, twitch combat? Nothing wrong with it if that's the case, it probably just isn't for me.

So try it and find out or watch gameplay on twitch or youtube.
Most game modes require Reinhardt. In fact, he's probably one of the most useful characters in the game that doesn't ever have to accurately fire a weapon.
The game is highly adaptable to many different play styles and all of them are valid. Personally, I'm not super amazing at aiming, but I find McCree and Soldier 76 to be fantastically fun.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
PRACTICE RANGE
Visit a training area and experiment with your abilities against practice bots. Use this mode to hone your skills or learn a new hero.
PLAY/PRACTICE VS A.I.
Play against AI-controlled opponents on any map you choose. Use these modes to try out different maps and learn how multiple heroes work.

If you're contesting objectives, you should be fine.
I’d say that honestly it is primarily a team twitch game and if you aren’t that good at FPS you might want to give it a miss, especially for the price.
You’ll be playing against people that can pop you in the head while turning and jumping 3 times in a row.
I’d give it a try, but as a someone who is only so-so at FPS half the time I found myself looking at the replays (you get one every time you die) and wondering how these people pull these shots off. The Bot games are either every easy on Easy or Medium level, or very hard on Hard. Sounds straight forward, but the jump between Medium and Hard was insane. (or maybe it was just my group XD)
So even if you're not that great with aiming (like me), there are always heroes like Mercy, Symmetra, Reinhardt or even Torbjorn (to an extent) that focus more on positioning and strategy rather than just aim.
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."
I would say though Reinhardt does need some aiming skill, to do well. His Ultimate and ranged ability do need to be targeted, but they are still large areas.
It is always fun to crush a D.va into a wall as her arms flail about... fun times. What I also noticed was new players just thought that I was a walking shield, that is until you golf swing a 150 Hp character into the distance, their lifeless corpse a sad reminder for them that Reinhardt has a hammer and everyone around him is a nail... For him it is about timing and positioning and not over extending, otherwise you end up dead. Also management of his shield, you can't just stand there for the whole match, pushing the cart. You do need to recharge it once in a while.
All of these things are different skills from FPS skills but still valid in Overwatch, so just because you can't aim or track target or get a single shot a target there is still a place for you in the game. In Reinhardt's word you can be "The ultimate crushing machine!"

Actually yes, OP, Torbjorn might be good for you, you set-up turrets and you upgrade those said turrets and they shred enemies for you. As long as there isn't a sniper on the enemy team you should steamroll the enemy. Upgraded turrets 1v1 tracers and most offensive heroes. Turrets can't be fooled with. If there is line of sight, they're firing, at all heights. That's why they are so difficult for tracer, just about the only class that relies heavily on confusing the opponent.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Why not, kitarad?
Also, the turret character sounds interesting. I liked playing the turret dwarf class, can't remember what it was, in Warhammer. Is Torbjorn desirable and useful on most teams?
