Just got my email, with a note attatched saying that all invites have been sent, and that if any of you get an email from NCSoft with the subject line "NA OPEN BETA" or anything relative, to not bothering reading it and replying to it with the following: "Hi. I don't want to play Lineage2. Please consider Yeildarb instead."

Interesting, I just noticed your graphic icon has the chorus from the song Jonathan Davis composed and performed in the movie Queen of the Damned, which David Draiman actually sings on the sound track. Not sure if you know or even care, but the second line is actually "because I'm not thee only one"
I know, I know, that's my two cents and I will probably get back some change.

i dont understand your open beta joke, but did u get an email for the closed beta? I heard that the first waves have been sent and there will be more waves throughout the month (probably accepting more people each time). Also if anyone was wondering, the pre-order deals that gamestop and ebgames was offering with the lineage2 beta refers to the Open Beta, and not the closed one.
If you get an email it is for you being accepted into the beta, they won't send you a email saying you have been rejected. So his joke is if you get a message from NCsoft, don't read it (in which you would find out you have been accepted into the beta) and reply to it telling NCsoft that you don't want to play and that ViolentY should have your account instead. He most likely meant to put the subject topic as NA Closed Beta.
Yes, I pre-ordered the game from EB-Games and I have a closed beta account. I would guess Gamestop would be the same.

well i heard the head gm say the offer from ebgames and gamestop was for only the open beta. Did you get your closed beta from them? or u just got invited?
Yes, I read HGM spam's posts too. It does only say beta in the email I got. So I called them, they couldn't tell me if it was closed beta or open beta, they didn't know and really didn't care. However, if it is open beta, then open beta starts next week because that is the ship date for the beta install CD they are sending me with the attached account that they already told me I have. So I really could care less which beta it turns out to be, I'm currently playing now and in 6 to 10 days I will get to start all over again.

wow i hope open beta starts that soon, though i doubt it. Maybe when you get the cd and the account, you will actually have to wait for Open Beta to start before you can log on to your account...
This game is going to be the Bomb, period. I played EQ for fours years and cancelled my account cause the game is so boring with squat for quests that matter. Hopefully this and other upcoming MMORPG's will be much more refreshing to my D&D soul.

They are still sticking with their story, true or not, and the last conversation I had was with one of their marketing managers. I am still debating if I want to bark up some trees to find out the answer or just let it go and wait to see.

some people on orphus have said that they got their pre-order account and disc and that the account only lets u download the client, you cant log in because it is only for the Open Beta.

YOUR MY BOY BLUE!........your my boy
YOUR MY BOY BLUE!........your my boy
HA, I love the quote.
You should however change it to "you're my boy blue...... you're my boy"

I asked a friend to look into the beta entry pre-order deal and clarify it on l2's main website, closed beta vs. open beta.
They did and it is in fact for open beta.

EQ2, UXO, Lineage 2, KO, Guild Wars, City of Heroes
If this is true...that's just great. That goes to show the inaccurate and unreliable methods used by NCSoft in the beta selection process.
How about the people that were honest in answering questions and applied only once with a valid e-mail address?
