If you want PvP then try Nagafen, if not Antonia Bayle(RP) is a nicely populated server. I don't really think it will matter which server you choose except the style you want (i.e. RP, PvP, PvP/RP, Exchange,...)

I think the Farscape world or even Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity world would be interesting for an MMO. While both are Sci-Fi, either are very rich universes. An even wilder idea might be the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, or Doctor Who.
