I've been reading around a lot as well and apparently only the first few levels (1-20) are heavily instanced to progress the storyline. After that I guess you're out there in the world doing quests and stuff *shrug*

Level 5 now and the game is really awesome. I'm surprised I'm able to max everything out (even 16Qx AA) with my 8800GT at 40+FPS all the time. One problem I'm having is entering the first city. The gate doesn't open and the chick doesn't do anything…
