for what is listet here it is Star Wars Galaxy 2½ year.
but at the moment i play Lineage 2 and has done so for 2 years, but thats only because i cant find any other game that catch my interrest, i only play Lineage2 because of the many friends i have there.
and i realy hope for a game like SWG to turn up some day, the skill tree was fantastic, before they made the game into crap.
Originally posted by sposocke I still think you're missing quite a few popular games like AO or Lineage on that list. Maybe start another thread? For me it was WW2ol, so other prolly, but I won't vote on that incomplete poll.
I would be "Other" too, as he inexplicably left off FFXI, a very popular and very long-running MMORPG that would be my vote. I wont vote for the same reason as you: it's too incomplete.

missing a ton of popular MMOs there, bud Judging by the fact that "other" only got 12% of the vote, I think I did ok. Missed one or 2 that I probably shouldn't have, but the rest are obviously not all THAT popular.
No, we simply decided that this was an awful poll and didn't vote.

Thanks for your opinion Chris, but very few listed games that weren't on the list, so you were in the minority. Don't take it personally.
SWG: 5 Accounts @ peak. 5 max level characters. 1 Elder Jedi. 2004-2007/3+ years.
WoW: 3 Accounts @ peak. 2 max level characters. On/off again since launch. Total game time probably 9 months.
EQ 2: 1 Account @ peak. A lot of low level characters. Started @ launch. Total time in game... about 2-3 months.
CoH/CoV: 1 Account. A lot of low level characters (character creation is about the most fun part of the game, imho). Started @ launch. Total time in game... about 2-3 months.
UO, in September its going to be my 8th year playing it
Eight years? That's incredible!
I haven't played a MMO more than 11 months, which was how long I lasted in Shadowbane and WoW. (And the last couple months in those games was only sporadic playing).
Star Wars Galaxies, and to this day I haven't played a game nearly as good. And I don't care if it wasn't "Star Warsy" enough, I was never interested in the Star Wars part anyway, it was an awesome Sci-fi game, despite the Jedi.
Asheron's Call by a long shot, for me. My account has been active since day 1 and although I don't play much anymore, I do log in and do a little bit at least every couple of weeks, so that's going on 8 years in November, and I'll be there til they shut the servers down.
SWG would be the next longest, from beta to the day they released the NGE. Not sure how long of a time span that was. I've played a number of other MMORPGs, but none as long as either of those two.
"Touch the M&Ms on my desk and you're fired from the design team." "No really! You're fired!" "Oh, you brought a refill. You're promoted."
SWG all the way lol. I loved that game to death until the NGE, i hate SOE now haha. But we've all heard that same whine bag story, imo SWG was the best MMO ever pre patch 9

You kept in the poll E&B and left out much more popular games like guild wars and EQ2??
Now I have only played Star wars galaxies, FFXi, EQ, and currently Tales of Pirates. But the longest is Final fantasy xi. I played it back when it came out. Stopped after the first payment only got my RedMage to lvl 40 :P not high at all. But my secoend time I played a little over 4 months, and got whm to lvl 56/blm28, (black mage was at 35 i think) I only stopped playing the seocned time to play FF12 but by the time I was ready to get back I forgot my account name and had used the recovery system with my PC, so I didn't know how to get my acocunt back :P. MY longest wouldve been SWG, but they had some MAJOR update awhile back that got rid of like 12 of the classes and some other random stuff that IMO ruined the game. I was a bounty hunter in that.
Yep I am with them ^^ up there, swg shortly after launch till the NGE, and then a month here and there, well thereafter. I still think at core it is the best game out there with the mixture of space, ground, player cities, freedom of choice, etc. The game could be much better with a expansion as aggressive as J2LS or RoTW. It seems to be in maintenance mode now. Would be nice to see them get all of there systems set for the current system. IMHO the current system is now light years better than their original NGE, but something is still missing. Would be nice to see them get the entire game finally converted to something cohesive. Funny how their new systems have become more complex and harder to understand than the first go around, but complexity without something consistent just makes a cluster-fuck, and not a game.
Second longest played, Lineage 2, third MxO (good community), Longest but not an mmo to some would be SL.
Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
WoW for 1 year and 2 months. it took me 11 months to reach 60 and once i got there the damn burning crusade came out and ruined the whole thing. my next longest would be LOTRO which for me is heading into its 2nd month
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Well I started to list every single MMO ever made, but the list got kinda long and I decided to trim it down to the ones that seemed to be the most popular...at least around here. I did miss one or 2 that I regret. Sorry, I apologize.
So how about you starting a poll? Not trying to be a stick in the mud, but on the other hand there have been quite a few claims already that I've missed a lot of games, yet that "other" number just doesn't seem to be getting that high for all the games that I missed. If I've missed as many as some people claim I have, then why isn't "other" at the top of the charts? I mean if I've missed that many and you combined ALL the people together, that should easily be #1. By a long shot I would imagine.
I asked that before and someone said that people just didn't vote for "other", they just didn't vote at all. Alright, then someone do their own poll and show me what I SHOULD have put in there.

I already mentioned that I wanted to combine EQ1 and EQ2 because I believe that a lot of people either played both or neither. Also, why would you want to split the vote up that way? In other words, if I put EQ1 and EQ2, then the ones who played both have to choose either 1 or 2. I suspect most will choose 1 just because it's been around longer, but then the EQ2 votes will kinda take away from the EQ1 votes. You see where I'm going? EQ1 and EQ2 are very similar games in my opinion. I didn't put WoW and BC on their because I don't really care if you played BC rather than WoW. I realize that's not really a great example, but it's my train of thought anyway.
I just forgot Guild Wars, which I owned up to on the first page I believe.
E&B was just a personal favorite of mine. Had EA kept the game going I think it had the potential to be my personal #1. See, when you create the poll you can put anything in there that YOU want. That's how it works

Guild Wars 2+ years.
Lineage 2.. It's hard to tell how long since I was taking long breaks.. but definitly more than 1 year.

RF Online: 1 month.
LotR Online: 1 month.
WoW since release until some months ago.
It's not very innovative, it's not very creative. But DARN, it's fun...
I have played wow for 2 years, and EQ for 6 months.

DAoC for just short of 2 years.
It probably would have been SWG. If the CU/NGE hadn't happened, I'd likely still be playing it.
Previous played: SWG (pre-NGE), DAoC, CoH, Anarchy Online, DDO, Champions Online Beta, LOTRO, GW2, SWTOR
Asheron's Call by a long shot, for me. My account has been active since day 1 and although I don't play much anymore, I do log in and do a little bit at least every couple of weeks, so that's going on 8 years in November, and I'll be there til they shut the servers down.

Anarchy Online for me, but since it's not on the list it'll be WoW - beating EQ by a month or three now. "Other" is too boring for a vote.
SWG: Launch to NGE was the longest I've played any MMO.
WoW: On and Off since NGE
The rest I can all measure in weeks and sometimes months.
Yep I am with them ^^ up there, swg shortly after launch till the NGE, and then a month here and there, well thereafter.
