That build is buildable from ground up for around 745 GBP and since those are the recommended specs/stats, I don't think people have much to worry about if they have worse ^.^
Ofcourse a comp that can't play anything except Runescape will be something to worry about...
"We got rid of the trinity." How'd you do that? "Now everyone can heal." Sounds like you just took the mechanic and spread it thin. "Well no, there's one class that can do it better than others." I see, so they're healers. "No. They're.." -mind asplode-
Heh, I love the look of XIV, not only does it actually looks like real cloth and armor but it will age very well too, just like FFXI...it still looks great after 8 years and its not that horrible painted on look. And heck even the starter gear IMO far surpasses the end-game gear I've seen in AoC...it just looks so bland and boring. I bet this realistic clothing look eats a ton of resources though and is prolly a large part of why these rec. specs are so high, not that I have any problems with them...
In other news, I've decided for now that instead of getting the GTX 470 or 480 as originally planned, I'm going for the GTX 475 once it releases which should be up next, and judging by how much that GTX 460 kicks so much ass at such a low price, I would guess the 475 will be around $300-350 which is perferctly in my price range. I did the same back when I waited on and purchased the GTX 275...
Just my experiences when I upgraded last month, the 480 is pure sexyness. I think I heard my machine moan when it started up.
Guys the game is optimized to run on a single core, not 3, 4 or 6, so even if you have a 6 core CPU if the single core that the game is using can't be pushed then you are still going to get a bad benchmark. The number of Cores is insignificant to tell you the truth unless you plan on running other things on them or dual boxing and being able to actually run the other game on a second or third core.
I would not worry about the super computer they are running and wait until the game comes out, run it and then see what you need to improve on.
If its only single core optimized then WTF is SE thinking? They know that more cores is where processors have been going for a long time now. Maybe SE is just really behind on technology if they are doing single core optimization and dx9. I would have thought for sure they would have dual core support and DX 10 for the game If they want to future proof the game.

My thoughts exactly, we've had multi-cores now for 6 years possibly longer. And games are still being made for single cores out of sheer lazyiness.

The ps3 even has 7 cores ffs.
it uses more than 1 core that guy has no idea what hes talking about. ffxi was single core

your thinking of the benchmark which was only using a single core. I'm sure the game are optimize for multiple cores.

Game plays well with an 8800GT on an AMD Athlon X3 425 in 1920x1080. The minimum system specs are set way too high.
...just wonders if this is NDA breaking...

These are the minimum spec, nothing fancy.

Those are beta specs not the actual specs.

No, these can be found on the Game Info page on their website.
