Wow that was insightful, pray tell me is WoT purely a subscription based game? Is this a discussion about subscription based mmos? Nice way to compare apples and oranges in the hope of deflecting from a momentously bad decision on the devs part.
Btw imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Keep embarrassing yourself if you like, you do it quite well.
That's two posts now and you have summarily failed to come up with any actual 'point' as to why my original comment was incorrect. Do you practice typing nonsensical gibberish or does it come naturally to you?
WoT is the first mmo to specifically charge you to group with friends, you seem to be trying to deny that in a round about way by attacking my posts. When in fairness, you would do much better if you could actually find a valid counter argument, but then let's face it, you are not going to manage that are you now.

The point was made.
The fact you cannot understand something does not make it nonsense nor gibberish nor less valid.
If you want to talk about invalid arguments, re-consider your owns.
Whether the game is subscription based or 'F2P' does not change anything about the fact they both charge you for the same thing.

No, one specifically charges you to group with friends. A game that has a sub based model charges you for access to the game, and as such is completely different from a F2P model.
By charging for grouping, WoT has the potential to alter the F2P model with other developers following suit, this potential sea change in the F2P model has nothing to do with sub based games and everything to do with cash shop games trying to get money out of its consumerbase under any pretense.

I haven't noticed you can play those sub based games without 'friends'. Is that specific enough?
You made my day, funny man.
Cya!
Edit: I see you changed your post, not really alot of point as you are still comparing two different payment models and failing to address that actual point..... Try comparing WoT to other F2P models, oh no wait that would completely invalidate your 'argument' (although I shudder to call it that).
Tbh, don't bother, i'd get more sense out of a squashed hedgehog then you it seems.
Buh bye.

Some troll wants an explanation a 6 year old could understand? OK, but I doubt you wil understand it. WoT is a f2p game, a 1st f2p game where you have to pay to play with friends. Because WoT is f2p, it is not p2p, which means it uses completely different payment model, thus two cannot be compared. I hope that was clear enough for you, boy, now go to school before your mom spanks your ass.
p.s. If that wasnt clear enough, then there is nothing anyone can do for someone as "special" as you.
This is link to platoon discussion on RU forums, not much dev posts there, except that there will be 15man clan platoons soon. Devs seem to avoid this thread.
"Edit:'s support vote pro squads . " link led to some hot discussion about platoons, there it was stated that there will be no free platoons in the nearest future, but then that thread was cleaned up and soon moved to the off-topic section (from "ask the dev" section). So they are doing a good job of concealing it (dont want new players to find out about it until its too late...).
If its proof that you have to pay to play with friends you want, it is here:

But as soon as you want to play with friends? And thats like after few hours of playing the game. A little too soon, I'd say...

Not really. The game is very playable just with free content. Gold makes things only faster and give you very little advantage in-game(consumables, kind of a premium ammo).

If you are testing it right now you know you can't play past certain point and make it worth your time unless you are a Premium player. Otherwise your blowing smoke.

High tiers - 9&10, are meant to be hard to maintain, even with premium account. That is to keep variety on the battlefield. Their use should be for 'special events' like clan wars or such later on.
Tier 8 tanks are very playable without spending gold.
I've been playing for some time now and without premium, it could be difficult to maintain a tier 9 or 10 tank. Although there is talk that the repair costs are lower or will be lowered. I couldn't get a clear answer when I asked as there was no mod online and everyone was saying something different. I just know that my T-44 repair costs appear to be the same as they always were (tier 8 tank). You would not need premium to maintain that tank, you may not be making much profit and if you sucked badly then you would likely lose credits consistently.
As for paying to play with friends, it only takes one person to have premium and they can make the platoon with 2 others that dont have premium. I don't see that as being such a big deal for me anyway. I do think limiting it to 3 per platoon is low but then again if they implement Clans (or when I guess) they may bring in the capability to form larger groups with clan-mates.
I can actually see a reason to not allow larger groups... With properly organized team-work, you can totally decimate an enemy team. Yes, I know that is the point of team-work but I'm just saying that pugs vs organized team would be almost always a massacre of the pug.
I've seen enough matches were one side only lost 2 or 3 tanks and completely overwhelmed the other side due to proper team play. (it was fun when on the teamplay side, but man was it frustrating being in that other team and trying to get people to play as a team...)
A mod was saying they are looking at three different package options, the most expensive was 100 US for 1 year of premium, 2500 gold and a premium tank. That wasn't set in stone and he had no info on the lower priced packages or on plain gold purchases.
