    PS:

And I dont even like Rift, I think its a boring game but you dont see me ranting ...

One goal of Rift was clearly to mimic the experience of WoW, while adding some minor features and changing the setting, etc. In this man's opinion they've clearly failed on that first point, and that's a biggie since that's where they hedged their bets. If I really want to play WoW, I'll just play WoW. It's tired and old, but it does WoW better than anyone else.

Question is... why are you on the Rift forums for a second time saying you don't like it?  Don't you think if you had half a brain cell you would have remembered that you don't like it and not come on the forums to post it again? Stil mad about not being able to do your valentines day quest are we? Go take out your bug related wow agressions out on a punching bag or something.

I've unsubbed from WoW. I do believe WoW is the best WoW-style game, however.

I'm not playing any MMOs til SWTOR.

At this point I consider my PC as less than mid-range with I7 920 2.6ghz..4gb ddr3...gtx 275..7500rpm 16mb cache HD and it runs at around 35-60fps. My monitor usually only allows for 60fps max even with verticle sync off .(Lotro seems to get over 100fps at times..but it is the only game that does). It looks pretty good most times..even with an arseload of players and mobs on the screen it may dip to just below 20 fps...and occassionally just above 10 fps..but oddly enough it never seemed to noticably stagger. This is at default "Ultra " settings which look really good.

what I miss most is the unpredictability. Whether it be world pvp encounters, rare spawns, raid bosses, a hidden vendor, vendors selling rare recipes, or just some really cool stuff tucked in the woods somewhere. The game seems utterly bland and predictable now. In all my time in Northrend, I never encountered anything that made me stop and think "wow, that's pretty cool and unexpected". Vendor recipes always require rep grinding, there are no more world bosses, rare spawns, hidden vendors, or even world pvp for the most part. Almost before even playing we know exactly where everything is, what to expect, who drops the best loot, etc..

    Rift has World PvP Encounters.

Rift has rare spawns (TONS OF THEM)

Rift has raid bosses (TONS OF THEM)

    Rift has hidden vendors

Rift has vendors that rare spawn and sell rare recipes

Rift has really cool stuff tucked in the woods somewhere (Gloamwood has plenty of stuff.  Whether you think it's really cool is up to you)

    Rift has world bosses

You like Vanilla WoW.  I'm really surprised you don't like Rift based on that.  One of the biggest things (both positive and negative) is that people have compared Rift to Vanilla WoW.

But like I said, I sincerely hope you have fun in what ever game you end up playing.

I'd hate for people who haven't got into the beta to pre-order this game based purely on its undeserved hype that a group of rabid fanboys has created for this game. I believe people should get a balanced view of Rift, and they're not getting that with all of the "10/10 - Best Game Evar!" fanboy reviews.

How about let people try the game out for themselves.  Getting into Beta is really easy.

I never saw a 10/10 Best Game Evar review on here btw.  Most people have been very honest about what they like and dislike about the game.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Because your "review" was highly informative and detailed.

Damnit.. it wasn't. So much for informed and concise counter-opinions to those "rabid fanboys" from you anyways.

Like someone else said, it's pretty easy to try the game before you buy it and allow people to form their own opinions, but that was a nice attempt to sound like you're actually trying to contribute to the forums.

.. But in a good way.

Yeah..and I need to keep my fan on 100% to keep the temp below 80..lol. I have the newest drivers for Nvidia. It runs great most times. I don't OC and the Motherboard has some bent cpu pins which prevent my full 6 gb usage of memory. Tried and tried to fix the pins with a micro tool set and magnifier but to no avail. Hopefully I'll find a good deal soon on a new setup. I could build it myself..but I find there are plenty of affordable pre-builds on newegg or tigerdirect that may only need a new psu or a card upgrade at the least..all the other components are usually good brands and I don't have apy full price for Windows..lol. My setup is about 2 years old already so....sometimes it just works that way. Glad yours is running top notch.

it cracks me up when i see people bashing a game they used to have in their sig's.  then when it gets near launch they ditch it and start bashing the game along with the rest of the bandwagon crowd.  then they slap a new game on their sig that is still far from launch.  then bash that shit and get a new one again.

The only thing I don't like in Rifts is some animation that makes me wonder how some anatomy works. But If I can play my MarkSaboStalker flawlessly ( that means, jumping when I want to, shooting when I want to, and using skill when I want to) I think it passed the "polish" and "code" part in my book.

And if you have a mid-range hardware in your computer...you have no rights to play the game in Ultra settings.

Doubtful, MMO standards in 2004 were a hell of a lot higher than now.

That's what i've been thinking too.

Rift is only getting such great praise because of all the crap with terrible launches that we've suffered through. Now that the crap is in working order before it even releases it's the greatest thing ever, sorry but i'm not buying into it, and I don't know how so many others are.

It's just the same thing we've seen for the longest time now, with a tacked on feature, and once that spectical grows old you are left with just another game the same as the rest out there.
