WoW (even tho i cant bring myself to login or look at it, its still a game i spent a long time in.)
AirAttack (aka Fighter Ace)
Those are some of my favorate kinda sad I dont play any of them any more, but thats got a lot more to do with the fact that I have sucked them dry, cant wait for Diablo 3. and Tor(to replace wow)
Oh and I'd like to give an honorable mention to the Sierra Online and Lucas Arts adventure games. In particular the Space Quest series, Liesure Suit Larry series, Monkey Island series and Day of the Tentacle. Those games gave me more 'spit coffee on the monitor' moments than any others I can think of. Truly great games, every one.
1. Everquest - Really loved this game for many years.
2. Baldur's Gate II series
3. Total Annihilation + expansions
Total Annihilation was one of the best RTS' ever. I never could understand why it didn't catch on. A friend of mine and I have been playing RTS' together for over 15 years and he didn't care for TA much either. I've been thinking about buying it again.
If I was told that there was only 1 game I could play for the rest of my life, it would have to be XCOM UFO Defense. I just can't get tired of that game no matter how old it looks.
I bought the whole series from D2D back in 2009 and even with the outdated graphics, I've been having a blast.

The creator of Total Annihilation is the man behind the Supreme Commander series. Second one is ok, but the first is almost as good as TA.
TA is favorite of m ine, right up there with Civilization 2-3.
I'm also going to add an incredibly underrated and relatively new RPG to the list... Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga.
I have been having so much fun with this game. Great writing, great graphics and lots of hidden stuff for the OCD gamer. I have probably used up 10 levels of exp from mind reading everyone I meet.
The game originally released as a buggy mess, but they did a new and improved version like The Witcher did and it runs great. Boost up the antialiasing on your driver side if you can
1. SWG pre cu, the open world and player driven economy as well as that extremely rare occassoin when you'd see a jedi made it all complete. CU was okay...NGE was poop...
2. Darkfall, when it comes to player politics you can't beat it, the siege system is amazing...great game, crap developer
Loved both of these games, my picks for future potential
1. Archeage
2. Tera
3. SWTOR
(shockingly i'm having fun in aion as well)

Its not an MMO, but my favorite game all time is Myst. I don't know what it was about that game, but the puzzles, the environment, the fact that it was just an open world you were just dumped into and had to find your way around and get everything to work, was incredible. Each iteration of the original after that got better and better, the graphics were amazing, even if it was just mainly still images, you really felt like you were there.
As for favorite MMOs, World of Warcraft is my favorite, followed by Vindictus. And I know once Guild Wars 2 comes out, that one will be at the top of my list.

I've played it through 7 times or so. It's just the right amount of hard all the time. The risk of dying is always present without getting overwhelming. The sense of accomplishment is always there. The quests matter, the adventurers journal is a great addition. It was created in the age of epicness before developers thought that quest quantity is so important that killing 3 spiders counts as a quest.
Awww... it's been 2 years since last time... Need to install it again....

my friend and i are huge RTS fiends and TA always been our favorite. we'd play that over AoE2 and Starcraft back in the day, that game was the bomb. i was suprised to see it mentioned that game is kind of obscure nowadays.
My favorite game ever would prolly be a toss between
1 Unreal Tournament ..too many reasons why it is just that good.Too bad i have never tried GEars of War i hear it is good also. The true game to play the most skillful of pvp too bad cheating has ruined all first person shooters.
2 Quake Another great game started by Mr.Carmack an amazingly smart person.
3 FFXI Tanaka did such an incredible job on a limited console game it is imo still the best mmorp ever.No other developer could come close to matching FFXI on a console system especially the pS2.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

1)Neverwinter nights
2)KoTOR
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
Max Payne
Its hard to decide, but I would have to say Bards Tale.
edit: The original Bards Tale
I self identify as a monkey.
The games I loved and replayed the most were:
* Civilization
* Might & Magic 6, 7, 8 (not Heroes of Might & Magic) - Unfortunately the graphics are too low resolution to play on modern PC's.
* Impossible Mission (Commodore 64 )
I'll give you a top 5...
Earthbound
Half-Life 2
Everquest
Mass Effect
Starcraft II
People think it's fun to pretend your a monster. Me I spend my life pretending I'm not. - Dexter Morgan
I also can't choose just one, but I can narrow it down quite a lot.
EQ2 (before it became so WoWified)
Grim Fandango
Diablo
Sanitarium
The Longest Journey
My top 5. And it's cool to see how many people have mentioned Grim Fandango, one of the greatest games of all time.
President of The Marvelously Meowhead Fan Club
Half Life set
Diablo set
Settlers (The early years)
Syndicate (Amiga)
Dune 2
CnC or Total An, Supream Commander

SWG Pre-CU hands down.
After that, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault takes the cake

Waiting on... Who knows?
Impossible to pick just one. I'd have to break it down by timeframe.
late 80s - Sword of Aragon and Bard's Tale
early 90s - Empire Deluxe and Master of Magic
late 90s - Master of Orion 2 and System Shock 2
early 00s - Asheron's Call 2 and Rome: Total War
recent - LOTRO and Mass Effect 2
My favorite is Asherons Call 1. Wish they would remake the game. Ac2 does not count
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Guild Wars
- Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Wing Commander series and the Privateer series. They could update and revamp both of these and I could play them over and over.
MMO's - I'd have to pick Asheron's Call 1 and Dark Age of Camelot. UO and Everquest were good also.
Either Mass Effect 1 or 2, I can't really choose one over the other, it would be like picking a favorite child and I can't do that.

Honorable mention to Grandia ^^ (ps1 ftw)

I think in the end, when all is said and done it comes down to
Neverwinter Nights including the Hordes of the Underdark expansion.
If not that then Morrowind or Doom II
