I've played almost all of them, UO, EQ, AC1, DAoC, AC2, SB, SWG. And others which are not as popular. But my vote would have to go to AC1.
Best concept ever though was old Horizons idea. Now that was epic.

Endless ages is pretty crapped up. Its better to use a crappy weapon and kill monsters that take 1K hits to kill. And instead of using a powerful weapon and taking it out in a couple shots, which pretty much just comes down to extreme tedium by forcing as so.

The game I'm currently playing is Astonia 3. I find it interesting except the fact that everything is so slow in this game. It gets frustrating sometimes.
Asheron's Call, the first 1-2 years it came out (in Darktide.) The PvP system is the best I've seen out of any MMORPG I've played + back in the day, there were politics and monarch wars all the time. The quests actually make you feel like your on a quest because your going through like a dungeon maze and theres puzzle to them, not just delivering something like some other MMORPGs. I also met a lot of friends (the good, close type of friends) there that I still play MMORPGs and other games with and I talk to them all the time.

EQI and II are without a doubt the most mind-numbing borefests. . .pretty graphics doesnt outweigh the necessity of game-play, and both those games are over-glorified "wack-a-mole" games in my opinion.
DAoC is a better attempt at delivering a mmorpg with better depth of game-play by having PvE and PvP which I think are essential to immersiveness, replayability and role-play. However, DAoC failed at their attempt imho by placing absolutely no substance or material or realizable game-play value into their RvR system.
WoW should transend those games and deliver something that will be a refreshing improvement over other mmorpgs on the market with their well developed class, graphics, engine, quest, PvE and PvP systems.
Any real gamer knows that EQ1 is the game that just made waht MMORPGs are today. UO was too but lets think less closeminded and admit that EQ1 is the best game ever made PERIOD.
Eq has so much content that keeps you hooked forever. I am in the EQ2 beta and i still play EQ1 just as i did when it started.
EQ was a great game, not sure how people can act like the graphics were good with bad gameplay when its the opposite. The graphics are really blocky and outdated, its the gameplay that makes it still good.
Anyhow i think UO has the most potential to be the greatest of alltime if only they could figure out how to put a game with that much content into a 1st person style game with up to date graphics.

You obviously havent been around mmorpg's long if you ignore the fact that The Realm (the first 3-d mmorpg) and UO are the first 2 major mmorpg contributors to the genre. I played EQ1 and gave up my EQ2 beta due to the poor, linear, depthless, mundane and boreish game-play.

the best game hummh.... none actually, but lets see if WoW ,EQ II or Dark and Light make me change my mind

Eq has so much content that keeps you hooked forever. I am in the EQ2 beta and i still play EQ1 just as i did when it started.
EQ was a great game, not sure how people can act like the graphics were good with bad gameplay when its the opposite. The graphics are really blocky and outdated, its the gameplay that makes it still good.
