Asheron's Call 1... end of story, there is nothing better than darktide pvp. The skill/stat system, and allegiance system is also very good. But now that everyone is lvl 126+, it isn't as good as it used to be, still the best systems though.

Well, I played a lot of them and loved many. But only one stood out from the rubble and got me hooked like a hooker on crack.....That my friend is ........*drum roll*...........
Asheron's Call
And guess what....AC: Throne of Destiny is taking AC from 16bit color to 32bit. Oh yeah baby.
How in the world can you say that EQ was the best? You must have low standards in mmorgs or maybe the fantasy aspect of it got you or you got it in that case runescape is the best lol.
EQ was the best imo. Held me the most and while playing I actually had a sense of accomplishment. Not that I'm bashing on DAoC or anything, I had loads of fun there, but it seemed like to me that it was full of rejects from EQ. I only say that because they could only hack it getting to level like 20 at most, then in DAoC would bad mouth EQ.
Hoping EQ2 will provide the same sense of enjoyment that I had in the original, plus a nice mixture of some new aspects from other games and new innovative ideas.
Those are the two games in my life that I have played the most and have had the most fun in.
No MMORPG has ever given me any real satisfaction for long periods of time. I usually play them for the community and to be competitive. They largely suck though.
Personally I would choose Asheron's Call - much faster pace than EQ with tons of ways to cuztomize your character and a great (although smaller) community. Tons of fun quests were available if you wanted to participate in any. The only prob was all the macroers and third party software crap that reduced the quality of the game in the long term.
I played DAoC for 2 years and EQ for 3 years and I really couldnt say which I prefered. I guess it would have to be DAoC as I never got tired of arty raids and ML's and rvring, Got burnt out of the 16 hour raids in EQ every day.

I just hope my new EQ2 addiction doesn't keep me from checking it out, LOL
Best games of all time? surely no MMOs
Single player RPGs just beat them in every aspect. Ultima 6+7, Arcanum, Morrowind...
Both genres share a similiar name, but they couldn't be farther apart in playstyle.
MMo -Anarchy Online with Eevrquest a close 2nd becuase EQs success is why we have all these new hopefully great MMos coming in hte near future.
Single player games- between Age of Empires2 and The Neverwinter Nights series and all its player made adventures.

Asheron's Call in pvp world during beta was a blast, beta server black I believe. Also DT when game first started.
Shadowbane at release was fun.
Early Ultima Online I would have to say was the best ever got me hook, line and sinker.
Come on, everyone knows the best games of all time are paradroid and dungeon master )
oooh but we're talking MMORPG's right?
the one i've had most fun in is DAoC. I've tried absolutely loads, but DAoC is the one that I keep coming back to
