It's funny you are talking about doing dailies. You know that you probably gonna need one year of doing dailies everyday if you want to get close to someone who can do that in one day, with diamonds? The amount you get by doing this quests is extremely low. Just count yourself: You need around 1500 to get ONE stat on your armor (15 days). Now multiply this by 4 or 5 and for every item you wear (yes, accessoires as well). And if you want to remove one useless stat, then you will have to spend even more. You are very much talking about low level areas but not how expensive it is gonna be in the endgame. It's based on RoM.
Lots of confusion in the posts above. I cant pretend I have it 100% right myself but here is my understanding:
Repair hammers are for in the field repairs, Useful but not essential and will be more useful once the PVP gets going. Perfectly possible to repair equipment at soul caster and upgade pretty much anything. I got lucky and made an epic (lvl 30) 1 handed axe and then spent 50k gold (not SC) enhancing it, its now a truely awesome weapon. Significantly better than lvl 45 greens i have seen and no SC involved.
Stats on armour, is that not for keeping minor stats on cosmetic armour we are talking max of 10% of what a pieces of armour originally had when it was a stat piece and more normally 1-5%? So its an option to spend a ton more money and have 1-10% more item stats, not game breaking in a game with such a large twitch component.
I am gonna now make my own wild assumption. I doubt Sony can have much influence over how the game is set up. It's produced in TW by Runewaker for the Asian market. Other than choosing what items appear in their cash shop I think the game we are playing is a straight translation. Seeing the SoE producers saying things like "Runewaker decided to do X and we support them in that" on thier twitch TV show suggests to me their is only 1 version of this game world wide with translations. But who knows all will become clear over time.
Good luck. People won't learn nothing nowadays. Like Runes of Magic wasn't enough. Can't wait to see later threads how game was awesome, but greedy bastards ruined it.
Stats can be gamebreaking after a while, like in Runes of Magic. You can have 6 instead of 1 or 2 stats, now sum it up to every item you can wear (I'm talking here about lvl 60 stats). You can be much more powerful! And with further updates, stats will be even more important. It's just the beginning. I like that system but in this case real money gives you a large benefit. By the way, it has nothing to do with cosmetic things. You can improve your real armor a lot here. Don't get me wrong, I really like this kind of individualization that's why I think they should make real cash currency tradeable - for a better balance.
Something they should work on as well: Compared to Tera, dungeons are chaotic and bosses have no interesting mechanics. It's only about surviving somehow and doing damage.
After gaining some levels or 30 I have to say there is NOTHING to the game, at least not while leveling. It's a complete fedex-killquest grindfest. You don't even have to read the questtexts, just talk to every NPC with a green !, then check the map and fly to the red or yellow dots. It's like someone found a few old files on some harddisk he didn't know was under that pile of out-of-order fax machines in the cellar and decided to make an mmo out of it.
It's pretty much Runes of magic/Radiant arcana, just with dragons. Which you can have 2 active and 2 stabled without paying.
been playing for a bit now..this game is fun..but the mobs are over done and agro from all across the map..the controls can be a bit lagyy especially the action bar which sucks in desgin..the time constraints on certain things..mage sheild..having the buff forf only two minutes ...this game is runes of magic with dragons...i even found match mobs in the game mind you they chaged the spelling...not to good..but this is open beta..and the fact that rune walker isnt listeing to its fans says to me its going to be a p2w game in the end..same as runes oif magic is...

It would be nice if they put in a sub option like they do for all of the other SOE MMOs.
I'd like to see that on the EU servers as well. I'll be more than happy to pay monthly.

I'm not 100% sure of the US servers, but on the EU they've removed all the instance channels and just made it whole. There could be number of reasons for it, who knows.

Makes sense, especially since they only allow airship travel on channel 1.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

Ya... I think it's pretty awesome actually. Needs a lot of polish, but the foundations are good. It's hella empty though - I don't get it.
Maybe if they beef and clean up the tutorial and do some more marketing they'd gain some momentum.
