The fact they had to "redo" their game to make it good....a good team doesn't need to "redo the whole game".
So Blizzard doesn't have a "good team" because they sent Titan back to the drawing board?
Square-Enix doesn't have a good team, because they had to redo FFXIV?
Lots of companies create games where they had one idea at the start, but had to redo it because it wasn't living up to their standards. Doesn't make them bad.
The problem with both those arguments is that it does in fact seem like they are not good teams. Titan is rumored to have been in development for years. Now it get's a reset.
Diablo 3...brings back bad memories so I won't talk about this game.
FF14 is one of the biggest failures to ever hit the mmo genre, it is all down to the fact that no one on the team had any interest in listening to the community, they made a game they wanted as if they had horse blinders on and it failed.

This comes off sounding a bit more like paranoia than healthy skepticism. All we really know for sure is two websites that are fans of MMO’s had a sneak peak and are writing positive things of the MMO they saw. It doesn’t exactly sound unreasonable. Its like a fan of the Playstation seeing the Playstation 4 and saying they like it. Will it be the best mmo ever? We’ll see… Is a major corporate conspiracy at hand? Probably not…

The problem is that they are writing positive things and giving us nothing. It basically "It's so cool, just you wait." No details of what they say, of whether they played, of how it compares to previous games, how it's coming along. They are doing the advertising for SoE and doing us a disservice.
Regardless of how you feel about this game and what state it's in the NDA media reveal did what it was meant to do and that's get all of you talking and discussing EQN.

Or you could argue if the game is really that good they would be doing us a disservice by giving ESO or some other game best of show.

By all means, take it with a grain of salt. Like I said, I see two sites that are a fan of the type of product they are putting out acting like fans of that product. However, wouldn’t it also be a disservice if it was the best thing they saw at E3 and they decided not to say so because they were not allowed to give out details of what they saw because of non disclosure agreements. People are just getting a little bit paranoid.

Not really. If the Best of Show went to something actually shown like ESO we would be discussing whether we agree, not discussing whether a game actually exists or what the sites high opinion is actually based on.

how does a game that doesn't even have a senior graphics, physics or general programmer, get best of show
Because games, especially big titles have multiple "senior graphics, physics and programmers" and not just one?
EQ had one, they had 3 regular programmers and 1 senior
EQNext is looking for 3 senior programmers
unless the game has just started development, companies don't go looking for senior programmers that late
my guess is, they are showing nothing because there is nothing to show
SOE has more money to throw this time than it did during EQ1. Companies don't look for programmers that late? Most companies look for top tier talent even after the product is released.
Yeah this is all a conspiracy, that makes sense to me. Both MMORPG and Ten Ton Hammer are in on it. And in 2 months at the big reveal I wonder what they do. lol

You don't believe the game exists?
I have no proof that it does. Exageration? Of course but it makes my point. If it were any other game we would be calling it vaporware, in this case though the Next forums are oddly active.

already posted the link to Blizzard's now hiring page. they are looking for all kinds of senior positions specifically for WoW. they are also looking for a User Interface Designer I guess thats why they have heavy use of addons, to cover for the fact they have no UI designer.
my guess is, they are showing nothing because there is nothing to show
There are such things as educated guesses.
This is not one of those.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it must be... A RHINOCEROUS
They've said quite a few times in interviews they are short on staff, especially programmers. The current senior programmer on EQNext is actually from EQ, SKlug.
All the things they've shown so far are not in-game, they're art drops. I think there is no game yet, the lack of screenshots or any in-game animation / info is worrying.
"Players will get their hands on an actual release version of what we're doing late [this] year - and I don't mean a beta," says Smedley.
he would break a lie detector
Yeah Smedley is a joke. Nothing speaks worse of the company than him. Remember the shit storm he caused by getting pissy with NGE critics? People sometimes forget this is the guy that ran Galaxies into the ground.

or perhaps they were being honest when they said the big reveal is at SoE live? Just a thought...
Because MMORPG.com and TTH would have some serious egg on their faces if all we have at SoELive (only 6 weeks away) is a bunch of concept art and ideas.
as much as i want EQnext to be a good game and be somthing different from the same old clones of that other game. im sorry but i cant trust anybody who gave praise to TORtanic.

That response shows you don't know the facts behind the game.

Want to do a check to see the job openings for WoW?
http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/directory.html#region=Americas
Youll see similar positions there too, guess WoW is still in early development as well.

Very early development? lol
As was already mentioned. Senior just means someone that has a lot of experience.
I'm not sure if some of you are ignorant or just trolling.

As far as I know EQ next is to be released this year according to this website , so it cant be that early in its development.

But he is more believable than people that think this game doesn't exist and somehow they are doing a big reveal in 2 months.
