Some kind of combat log with floating numbers, dodge and stuff, also if possible my HP to end from left to the right not from both sides towards the middle, can't get quite used to that.
[i] To answer the OPs question: I'd personally prefer if addons simply didn't exist, as I love the minimalist UI and hate DPS meters with a passion. They really limit creativity in builds, as people flock to whichever build people report the highest DPS/Healing/whatever on. I also possess a firm dislike for raid mentality, and don't want to see it infecting a game that has so much going for it in the way of immersion.
The only addons I'd really like to see, are improvements to the actual aesthetics of the UI in its current state, and possibly a tool to allow easy access to the entire list of emotes available. You could also program an addon that used certain combinations of emotes, with particular timing, in order to create entirely new emotes. My only issue with this, is it means someone could program addons to completely play the game for them. Not for every class, of course, but it could easily run something like a healer whose sole focus was healing allies, by detecting when they were low. It would be much more difficult to run something else, in comparison to say WoW, thanks to the non-tab targeting/necessity for blocking/interrupting/etc. Still, I don't like when addons actually press buttons for people. I fail to see how that doesn't destroy the entire purpose of the game.
Informational addons wouldn't be bad though. Maybe something to help out crafters (like a general information directory to improve on the game's somewhat minimalist tips,) since there will certainly be sites trying to monetize crafting secrets/guides, and I would love to see them stiffed.
Oh, a noob helper would be great though. Just something with general tips and tricks, basically telling them the essentials. Things that should've been in the tutorial but weren't. Tips about building your character. Informing people that magicka and stamina both increase their related damage types, or that you'll miss a great deal if you just hop from quest hub to quest hub, or that you probably don't want to start off with a low damage skill, unless you're grouping with friends, since it will greatly increase the time it takes to kill mobs early on.
I agree, I dislike add-ons as they seem to turn it into more of a numbers game rather than how it used to be use what you thought was fun, not what was the fastest and most efficient damage dealer. For me I just use the UI the game makers designed, to me I guess I see it like when I last bought a mountain bike, I got the one I liked the look of and design etc as is .. Not one I would buy then spend even more redesigning. If that makes sense?
Auto for complete gear swap? It apparently still has some bugs but once fixed, if you can use another add-on to swap skills on both weapons (not to be confused with weapon swaps), the macro add-on will allow you to use a two button combination to completely change your character load out with no cool down, that's armor & weapons on one, and I'm sure they will have a skill swap add-on so second button for that.
Actually, strike that, if I combine them into 1 macro depending on if there is button delay I should be able to have one button to turn me into optimized DPS ranged (light armor and all) launching a quick rotation and the 2nd macro button switch me back to S&B full bore tank with the Dark Exchange and/or Equilibrium slotted and maybe a few buffs/heals on the primary weapon and actually attacks/snares on the second. Excellent.
Jesus, thats the most ridiculous idea i ever heard... Its so stupid ill block you just for liking it.
Buffs and debuffs indicators could be usefull, other then that, chat bubbles but thats not gonna happen. I like UI being minimallistic.
The ability to swap out gear easily is a dumb idea...so much so that you'd block another for liking the idea?
wow.

So long as Curse is an addon hub for ESO, I'm all for it. Curse scans for malicious addons, so it's normally better to go there than other sites. Given that Curse received/gave away a ton of beta keys recently, I'm sure they are prepared to support ESO as an addon hub.

While I'm not typically a fan of addons, in this case I don't mind. Some of the addons I've seen add some basic MMO features such as floating combat text, cast bars, etc.

In combat? By all means. Maybe we should swap characters mid fight. ESO tag tournament lol
Meh, you have your views...etc. etc.
I'm not sure anyone ever mentioned in combat, and even if they did ZOS either made an oversight or they don't care if people can do it.
I guess it's more immersive to search through your bags and click each one when you want to swap gear for a different set you carry?

I feel this way as well. Allowing add-ons is really the only thing I have an issue with in TESO.
Screw that noise when they are purposely making a less PC-friendly interface because of consoles.
They have to allow add-ons so that the community can pick up the slack from their business decisions.
I like addons, because even the greatest out-of-the-box-UI can never be exactly like I want it. Even if,.. that would only mean it would suck for someone else.
Addons give the possibility to get something that makes everyone happy. Now if we are talking about ingame effects besides the UI, or showing informations you can not get without addons, that is a differend topic.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

All im saying is changing armour in combat is stupid. Its not only immersion breaking, its totally idiotic. And Pyatra suggested just that.
The mod exists, not sure if you can actually change in combat, but it doesn't say you can't. But yes, it is stupid. I honestly think that skill or armor swaps at the press of a button are game breakers in PVP. I don't even like macros nor do I use them. Like I said... "Just some theory crafting". If we don't realize how broken it is now, it will be to late later.
Like many have said, I believe addons go against the spirit of this game. But I guess the game won't feel as new at some point and you will want to optimize your contribution to pvp, dungeons, and whatnot, with addons.

I'm not sure about armor, but I'm absolutely certain that we can't swap weapon in combat (not the level 15 one, I mean change equipped weapon manually). I've tried it in the beta.
Target Enemy Player Live PvP Stats If you watch just off center of screen, you will see the UI mode display target enemy players [Name, Class, Level, Health/Stamina/Magicka Pools, Buffs, Debuffs, and Spell Casting Interrupt Timer]
If you don't mind having the option to playing the game at a disadvantage, or if you would like to play having the option that goes against what they've said in interviews.
ZOS is emphasizing that visual cues for enemy abilities that require various player responses are prominently displayed in the world rather than simply as a UI element. Instead of using interface prompts like cast bars or text warnings, players will be required to watch the physical movements of enemies in order to anticipate their attacks.
UI mod from video directly contradicts this statment.
ZeniMax recognizes the strong role of the modding community in Elder Scrolls franchise, and certain aspects of the game experience, like the UI, will allow for user customization, reskinning, and limited modification. ESO will support LUA based modifications that will allow modders to interact with the game's systems through an API. This will allow modders to create interface based modifications like enhanced combat text or buff timers.
Client side superficial are fine, but not when its live data used against others .. knowingly or not.
The ESO gameplay experience is designed to be "distraction based", in that instead of following an on-rails trajectory of advancement, players explore the world and encounter quests, dungeons, and events which are strategically placed to emphasize exploration and non-guided advancement
First and foremost, Elder Scrolls games have always been modable, so anyone who says it goes against the spirit of the game obviously doesn't play Elder Scrolls games. Second, as someone who has tried quite a few of the addons out already, I feel they are great because they allow you to make the game more like a traditional MMO or more like a single player ES game as you prefer with the design. I like having the features to give more traditional MMO UI options.
Ok, addons are there. So there's two choices, use the ones you want or stick to the original game.
You can't do anything about other people's decisions, and unless they post their gameplay somewhere you're unlikely to find out what addons each person is using.
If addons appear (or are already available) that give players an advantage, then the choices are down to three.
1. Use the add ons yourself so you feel as though you've leveled the playing field.
2. Ignore them and understand you're at a possible disadvantage, but what the heck it's likely to be a zerg v zerg v zerg anyway
3. Quit the game in protest
And that's it.
People knew from the start addons where going to be in the game and as sure as eggs is eggs, there would be a significant focus on combat play with these.
