Noting more than 10 years of development, the real problem seems no one ever realized Alpha is not the only letter in the Greek alphabet !

Yes but in a recent update they added getting armor and clothing dirty, to varying degrees even.

Sometimes the reason stuff like this has never been seen before is it's not really necessary or doesn't enhance gameplay in any significant way

    Yet, incoming, another million bucks.
    NGL.

I would love to see things like, Combat Damage, Age, clothing visually wearing out (Assuming the game has item decay), weather, environmental stressors, hot breath in cold air, and all that jazz.

Lets be honest, all that stuff enhances gameplay, while not as cool as ass physics, it's still a neat effect.
Elite dangerous had that for one ship. (The Anaconda)
It could get a worn appearance after several battles.

    Fixed :D

    - Star Citizen ships have a dynamic procedural damage model and internal damage states.

    - Ships have wear and tear and so will the clothing/weapons too.

    - There's weather effects, snow storms, sand storms, hot breath in cold air and many other cool details like wind affecting your locomotion, if you walk against the wind you'll go slower than when you walk with it's direction and if you walk sideways the character body will lean to compensate. Your space helmet gets foggy/wet and there's a keybind to wipe it Etc.

Lot's of cool details in the game already.

I had those effects on my ships and I never owned an Anaconda.
As for things in Star Citizen, serious question, can I take off my shirt and throw it on the ground where it appears as something others can pick up?
Nah you're probably thinking about the basic scorch marks/laser burns.

As far as I know, the only ship with physical damage modelling is the Anaconda (as in the 3D structure of the ship changes), this damage is persistent until repaired.

As for taking shirt off and throw it on the ground for others to pick up, yes that's a thing. Since all items are physicalized if you drop something on the ground it will appear as a pickable object for anyone. Same goes for armour/guns/items players and npc wear/use.

I was thinking of paint job wear: Paint job wear and tear question :: Elite Dangerous General Discussions (steamcommunity.com)

    It is a cool effect.

Ah yeah that yes that is has indeed, I was thinking about combat damage not the paint chipping from wearing out in the black.

This reminds me of when McDonalds used to post how many hamburgers they have sold on their signs in front of the stores......It doesn't mean that their hamburgers are better......

You can graduate high school TWICE and this game would still be in the works.

Its offtopic, but personally I strongly doubt there is such a thing as "good hamburger".

And people who claim this game will never release might look up the story of the game "Duke Nukem Forever". ;)

Though maybe Star Citizen will break even THAT record. >:)

Invictus flight week was a huge success. HUGE. I bought a few things myself, got a refund on a deal that wasn't as good as a deal that came out a couple days later. Pretty impressed with the performance during one of the biggest free flys of the year. I told myself I wasn't going to spend more unless I could log in and play without any bugs while it felt stable. Not saying my entire playtime was void of bugs, there was definitely some annoying bugs, mostly with the star map.

I spent way too much during the event.  But hey I got some cool toys!

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

Haven't spent a penny for years but had a lot of fun. These Events are awesome to test all the ships!
