I have it preordered for the statue. Not sure. I'm not actively playing as the game bores me and makes me repeatedly reinstall Skyrim or Oblivion or Morrowind. May cancel it.
It's funny, I usually log in, play for a small bit, do some quests, enjoy myself "enough" then load up the single player games and player several hours in them.

That is me. I make it (generally) to the second major city on each of my ESO characters and then log. Then I spend the rest of the weekend redoing various assassin/thief/mage guild quests in the single players that I've done ad nauseam and having more fun.
So who here plans to play Morrowind at launch? I have thought of picking it up at launch but do not know too many people on the PC that play it. (Mostly console friends. I have it on the One,PS4 and Steam) Also, I have the base game (X3) but none of the DLC. Should I pull the trigger on the DLC before getting Morrowind?
I will to at least play through the story. I enjoyed the last few DLC. I just wish It came with a free month of ESO+ so I can have the material bags back. I know, QQ right.
I'll most likely 99.9% pick it up, but won't play much until the fall. Too many activities in competition for my time in the summer. Games I can play anytime.
Although Morrowind the single player game is one of my favorite games of all time, I havent ever seen anything in the Online version of Elder Scrolls that appeals to me.
also, Zenimax's second lawsuit against Oculus which is 100% out of spite has turned me off to buying any game from them if I can live without them...which I can
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
I think the new area could be a lot of fun as well because Zenimax's level design seems to be improving: when I subbed for a bit recently I played through some of the DLC areas and they were really well done.
Yes. This has been true of all DLC. Nowhere is this more evident than in the design of delves in all the new zones compared to what they were like in the vanilla zones when the game first launched.
They got a lot of justified ridicule back in 2014 about how those delves felt mailed in and their layout was duplicated ad nauseum. They did go back and redid many of them in response to that and it was an improvement.
But the delve design in all the new zones, even the one pre-DLC zone Craglorn, is orders of magnitude better than the original delves.

No, you're right. No qq here. For the price it really should come with a month of premium and 1500 crowns, especially since it's a cash only purchase. They're being a bit stingy.
Yeah, how much does it cost again? 60$? It's too much for what they're offering. Now, if it was 30-40$ or came with extras...
I've only messed with the free trial of ESO. I thought it was worth exploring a bit more. I'm hoping to score some kind of significant discount on the base package when Morrowind releases, then pick up some DLC as these go on sale. Help a cash-strapped gamer out, Steam.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

It would be smart for them to include a month of ESO+ with purchase of any version that includes the base game to give new players a taste of the bottomless crafting back and double bank space. I don't think I've ever seen DLC or expansions or "chapters" that add to the base game include a free month with the purchase of that. I think that would be a first.

Agreed. I thought new player accounts got 30 days of premium time. I'll try and remember to check later at work. Even so, It should be in every "for dollar" DLC cost that is $30 or more regardless.
No. They did away with that when it went B2P. Instead of the 30 days they gave them 500 crowns. Although I've seen some subtle signs that this may be about to change again.

I thought the reward for buying a game was the enjoyment of the game itself. Now people want to be rewarded just for buying the game.
Millenial mentality...ugh.
Dude... a free month's sub with purchase is not exactly something new. It's been part of buying an MMO client as long as there have been MMOs with subs... long before the term "millenial" was even invented.

Millennial mentality existed long before the term was coined. The previous generation called them spoiled brats and pampered princesses. Now we just use the generational term millennials because they are no longer the exception, but the norm.
And for the record, I thought players who asked for special perks 15 years ago were just as spoiled as they are today. Unfortunately there are a lot more now than back then.
No, it's not an entitlement issue. There isn't an expectation of free here and no I don't hand over my money to game companies "just for the reward of playing their game". I don't buy into that hippy dippy new age bullshit.
When I pay for physical or digital personal property or services I expect a good or service in return. That's the antithesis of entitlement. It's a business transaction. I think the word you were looking for was Ferengi, not millennial. :chuffed:
The discussion is concerning the value of the package in contrast to other game packages now and in the past. It's about what one wants or expects for that financial transaction.
Entitlement has nothing to do with cost. It's an unrealistic expectation that someone has a right to have/do/own something. Always asking for more.
When you buy a game, you deserve a game. Not a 30-day sub, not a pet, not a costume. If a company chooses to offer something more then that's great, but if not receiving perks for buying the game is a deal breaker for you, then stop buying games. As a matter of fact, you're one of those consumers companies would rather not have as a customer.
When I develop personas for new products at the company where I work, I don't just build them for the various audiences we are trying to attract. I also build personas for the types of customers we don't want. That way we don't target the undesirables into purchasing the product because generally they're more trouble than they're worth.
And for the record, I thought players who asked for special perks 15 years ago were just as spoiled as they are today. Unfortunately there are a lot more now than back then.
No one asked for it lol. It was just the way MMOs with subs were always sold.

I will probably end up getting it, but it won't be a Day 0 purchase for me. Probably wait until I catch it on sale, or find myself bored with nothing else to play.
I like ESO and I think it's a good game, but it's not my main game. I still don't have a max-level character in it - probably because I split my time between PC and PS4, and the two don't share servers (unfortunately), nor subscriptions (even more unfortunately as I would probably carry a sub if they did, like I continue to do for FFXIV).
In truth they are a company with shareholders and they need to protect their property.

No it's 40 I believe for existing accounts ....60 comes with the base game as well.

That sounds pretty cheap to me, especially since you don't need to sub. How much does FF14 and expansions cost, ditto WoW?
