Another Korean made Unreal Engine 3 mmorpg? Tankinis, lolly's, midget girls and furries too!? Throw in gender locked classes as well? Oh man, count me in man! I've yet to play one of these in the west and thoroughly cant wait to enjoy it! /lol

Seriously, so tired of these constant dumpster fire games made...from TERA, Archeage, Bless, Black Desert...I'm beginning to think the Koreans don't know shit about mmorpg's anymore. Well, did they ever though? Who knows, but I know I'm staying far far away from this thing.

Using at least UE4 should be a requirement, having said that, i think BDO uses a proprietary engine of their own and not UE3, the only game of the bunch listed to be a 'dumpster fire' would be Bless, the others did, or are doing quite well, exceptionally so in the case of BDO. While i might not be all that enthusiastic about the aesthetic that Korean games commonly trend to, i don't think anyone can realistically accuse them of not knowing 'shit' about mmorpg's :/

As far as I'm concerned, if a game does not have a subscription option, it's a no go for me.
So the payment option alone makes or breaks the game? You realize you eliminate about 95% of the games with that mentality.

They claim the Western version will be different from Lazy Peons game play. Just have to wait and see first.

Different to what extent? Like 1% different and 99% the same?

Not to sound extremely negative but - other than  a full redo from scratch, no amount of changes can save this game.
I'm sorry but just because you didn't like the game doesn't mean everyone won't.  There is a good chunk of us on discord waiting for the game with more joining daily.  We should be happy about more MMO options being available instead of being constantly negative like you seem to be haha

    Did I say everyone?

I am saying that the game will have minimal traction and will be facing shutdown within a year.

Of course there will.be some that will like it- hell there are still people playing Bless and lots of other garbage games.

But let's get real - this game will be a dud financially

Well if that's the case then why not stop going around on every Astellia article calling it "subpar in every aspect" and that "nothing can save this game"? We should be happy that we are getting more options for MMO's. If you didn't like it that's perfectly fine...but you don't see me going to every MMO I dislike saying it's horrible, subpar, avoid it, not worth time,etc... I'm just saying if the game doesn't suit your tastes you don't have to go to every article to be negative.
Since Trions fateful demise , some people here have become , bitter towards the industry as a whole , and enjoys peeing in every one elses cereal

IMO I am just watching the mmo industry swirling in the toilet bowl and calling it like I see it.

Trion is dead and gone and was a spec of dust in the great scheme of things, a non-factor.

Look at the rest of the industry- just look at the layoffs, shut downs and downturn in general.

It would take an exceptionally great MMO to survive in this market - and Astelia is far removed from that.

Call it bitterness or whatever you like, it's one persons opinion - disagree with me all you like

The industry got bloated , it is now trimming its own fat , Bad Games and Devs that used questionable and invasive monetary systems are being purged , the good Games and Devs are doing fine .. and will continue to .. (as a matter a fact ESO,FF14 and WOW have shown increseased players)Thew industry could not support the explosion that followed Wows success for long before caving in on itself , compounded by a non Trade Agreement with china.. Has effected the industry as a whole ..

Good Devs and games will be fine , we needed to trim the fat in the genre anyway it was full of terrible games and Devs ... Good Riddance

I don't share your enthusiasm - nobody is doing "fine" ESO certainly isnt, their sales are down and they are hoping their next project infuses some life into ZoS

FF14 has been bleeding players, as has WoW

I guess maybe this is fine to you - certainly not fine to the game companies.

You didn't mention one game that is actually doing fine -
BDO i- due to them fleecing the players in the cash shop.

I guess that didnt fit into your good devs/good games list so you didnt mention it

i'd kind of like to know where you got your information about ESO from, considering they have server queues enabled atm and are in the process of adding more data center hardware to keep up with the demand of players they have been seeing

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/467936/pc-eu-server-update-april-11?utm_content=The Elder Scrolls Online&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=Community&sf101153782=1&fbclid=IwAR0eXydskkr2H8M84PT27ddl__BF9XlaaDAwllU-99iwRxEhNzfwPoxA5gM

looks like ESO is actually doing pretty good for itself to be honest.

He has an uncle who works at Nintendo....at least that's the weight/validity with which I treat his "insider information"

Can't comment on the game, but I do like the idea of trying to mix things up when it comes to dungeon runs.
Sounds like a very sad adaptation of Orwell by the devs: reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.

Eagerly (/sarcasm) awaiting the devs presenting some evidence to the contrary of their own.

Since everyone knows Wow and you can see the resulting loot from a dungeon run,i am surprised this was not mentioned. So nothing new here and imo it is not even good a idea,i would call it a BAD idea.

The rest as in the idea of group or solo performance ,this again is an old idea done really well by FFXI.I don't think i can lean one way or another when comes to solo-group performance.Part of me feels being a mmo it should be about the group and not the solo.IF the solo performance was well thought out then i am ok either way but what ends up happening is DPS is favored for the best performance result. It is a good idea if done right.

Dude in video hit it on the nose when he mentioned the exact same run animation,a LOT of KR game design can be stereotyped ,they really lack the ability to think or be creative.

Gender locked, most realize that is a bad idea, imo likely has to do with corner cutting "making less characters".
I kind of smiled hearing peon "i think it Peon"talk about likely selling pet collectors in a cash shop. The fact it was porrly optimized, says they released it in KR because they must have lower standards from the players but of course are taking longer to release it over here. Was the delay simply a publisher reason or language reason or did they actually optimize it?

The graphics look ok for sure,Peon mentions a linear progression and seeing the question marks over the npc heads just really massively turns me off.
NO PEON ,a bunch of people dancing is not cool ,you played too much Wow.

I needed to mention the part about graphics and optimization.
I often over the years here soooo many make excuses for bad graphics, claiming art style for example.

IMO the reason has ALWAYS been EASIER to design and EASIER to optimize, you don't need hardly any effort to optimize low graphics. So a game like this attempting nicer graphics as a selling point did not spend the effort testing and tweaking the scenes/maps and even sometimes having to optimize the models to allow it to run better.

It is NOT about the engine,it is all about the developer.Epic games at least once released a video showing how the engine can optimize meshes/models so they look high end but use less resources, less performance hit and less vertices. There are also other ways to make it run better.

Something else i didn't mention and is an INSTANT delete for me is seeing the Ranger class spamming arrows in an unrealistic manner as well i would bet there is no arrow crafting and there is no AMMO slot,so a VERY lazy design of a ranged class. If the Ranger class does have ammo and crafting with the design both arrows and bow types ,then great all i would hope for is a more realistic attack design.

the question is are they single or MMO? if they are single its ok and hardly freeze, now if is MMO then we have a problem, really sometimes I think they should make a anime like graphics over the normal more realistic graphics, because they tend to not lag as much, and they age better

the issue of ammo is most, they want to balance, normally arrows cost money so they are a poorer class, when a melee don't have such issue, is dumb? yes it is if you want the advantage of the range you need to pay for such advantage, but devs looks like they don't want that
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

Another Trash game that will fail because of gated instances, tickets, only run 2 dungeons per week bullshit.

Every mmo that does this has failed. Learn from WoW, if someone wants to play 20 hours and do 100 dungeons a day they should be able to.
