As a member of another guild in another game, the only thing I could suggest is that if you have a good guild, don't give up on the guild because of the game. DnL crashed and burned, probably the highest profile, most spectacular disaster in the history of MMOs. That said...a good guild stays together, and moves where it needs to to find a home. There are plenty of good games out there. Even if everyone disputes which games are good, the point is that if your guild wants to be there, then everyone else's opinion doesn't matter. I can list the games: DAoC, Vanguard, WoW, EQ2, Guild Wars, EVE Online, The Saga of Ryzom, City of Heroes/Villians, Chronicles of Spellborn, the list goes on and on. Any of these games, and a lot of others, would probably make a good home for a guild. (Not advertising any game, and this isn't the place to argue about the merits of said games either.)
Best of luck to all in SoF. May your journeys take you to a better home.
Hey! don't rub on Ztyx! He got me banned from the DnL forums which was a blessing in disguise.
But seriously. I'm surprised that SoF stuck around for as long as they did. Their leadership seems to have alot more sense then many of the other guilds. Most of the smaller ones that are sticking around have noobs to the mmorpg genre. And their leaders are young punks that are defending their little piece of the mmo community....that is, DnL. They don't want to let go of their tiny little power trip. They are all that's left of the fanbase/fanbois. Virtuella and PREdig can testify to that. They've had run-ins with the one mentioned above. And if he doesn't fit the desription I mentioned then no one does. Those types will be there until the game finally admits to itself that it's dead and keels over.
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
