Add me to the list of people who find this add annoying. Thanks for the info on the ad blocker there's an ie version to and it works great. Maybe if websites and advertisers weren't so annoying we wouldn't have to do stuff like this.
This is just crazy, I can't believe how many people are making a fuss out of this ADD. I guess people aren't as blessed to have the sense of humor I have. It makes me feel bad knowing that people don't laugh as much as I do. Thank you God for making me think nut shots are funny and most everything on this planet is funny. Just like Lewis Black said, not quote for quote but close enough.. If you don't laugh you'll end up being like those terrorists, they have gotten so serious in life and don't take time to laugh at things, they just ended up going crazy.

No, the way it works is that a pretty well respected website will be taken a lot less seriously by people that have been members for a long time.
Not everyone of course. Just people that really don't need adolescent and scatological humor popping up in their field of vision. Hey, if this is in line with peoples' expectations here then this isn't the community I thought it was. Simple enough.
I agree, MMORPG used to actually look like a decent mature place to talk about MMO games, but with all these immature ads it really tells me that they don't care about their reputation. Ads are fine, as long as they don't annoy the crap out of your users. Someone mentioned Adblock and I do use it here so I don't see any of the ads anymore, however the damage is done. I used to browse this place with the ads on to see what new games were out, however.. no..sorry..too annoying and takes to long to load the content I REALLY came for.
i found it alittle funny, at first..after the second or third time though it just got old....i dont mind the ads for the "childish" games..like the 'freaky creatures" one, or wizard 101..but come on, the nut shot ad is just pathetic.

A fan is complaining about an ad where a man gets nailed in the nuts while said "fan" continues to play games in where you solo or team up with your buddies where the prevailing objectives are to kill, maim*, decapitate*, eviscerate*, bloody, burn, freeze, electrocute, dissintegrate, poison, soul suck, fear, humiliate, mug, rob, loot, exploit, teabag, greif and gank multitudes of mobs/creatures and other players?
Is that what this is about?

Anyone who thinks that the ad is parthetic or childish just need to have their head examined. So they are advertising a little unique feture to their game that conotates fun, besides what person who plays FPS games wouldn't do this especially if its incorporated into the game.

I'm sure mmorpg.com has already been paid to post the advertisement, so they can't take it down until the contract is fullfilled.
The only thing we can hope for is that they make better decisions in the future on what ads they run.
