As for Colton, well he sure does do a good job of taking pictures from neverwin and posting them here. Strange part is those pictures were originally directed toward him in an derogatory manor. Clearly the guy has a poor imagination. Unfortunately, this is not his only short coming.

Perhaps someone can update me with what exactly "chaosgameengine.com" is and who it belongs to? Did Colton simply sell the usage of the engine or the complete rights to the engine? Any research or just skeptical conjuncture?

Ohhhh... Where to begin, well for starters chaosgameengine is going to sue me for contacting sites they were advertising on and informing those sites who they were dealing with.



Chaosgameengine will not supply any information in regards to the acquisition of LAS but claim Colton sold it to them for 40K (in coltons eyes untold millions)



There is quite a bit of garbage about, just as there always has been. I'm just waiting for the hot shot lawyers to sue the pants off of me and Tunabun.

Are these the same guys ? Looks very suspicious, usually normal commercial 3D engine will offer technical specifications on their 3D game engine but all I am reading is them trying to tout themselves as amazing with over 2 billion dollar sold @_@; Even truly powerful next generation 3D engines like Unreal 3.0 or Gamebryo don't try to tout how much they have sold but instead provide adequate descriptions on the technical specifications and capabilities of their engine.

I've followed this post for some time, not only because I found all the drama amusing, but also because it's nice to see some people actively trying to defend their peers/fellow gamers from being taken advantage of.  While there have been times that some peoples' presentation could occasionally be better, I applaud their willingness to take the time to do the legwork and put up with all the caps-locked, unimaginative threats and abuse.  Make no mistake, their actions have very real value.  People lost real money when the original company scammed them.  The ridiculous behavior shown by Colton Burg(r)ess/Loud Ant Software/Troy/and 47 other  accounts on various sites that others here have documented as being clustered around the same few IP's is a real black eye on the mmo genre.  If he is trying to scam people, whether he does it well or poorly, either way is bad.  Because all these companies that are making new mmorpgs with one eye on Blizzard and it's 8 million paying subscribers could just as easily decide to put their money in some other area that is less "scandolous" or problem-ridden, or even just percieved to be so.  Or heck, God forbid someone try to do the right thing simply because it's the right thing.  I mean, cripes, what kinda mess would we have if more folks started doing that?? Yeesh.

I was looking up the game engine on gamedev and wow.. there's this really long thread and the Troy guy got tore to pieces by the developers, trolls and hobbyist hanging out there. I was looking at the screenshots in the website.... the engine sounds legit enough with the scene-graph and terrain editor screenshots ..sounds like people didn't like Colton Burgress or the new owners of the game engine... however judgement on if this engine is a scam or not is still out there.

I appreciate some of the members coming to our defense. I think all this is a lot more simple than people are making it, but I will give some history as i understand it.



The game Age of Mourning was built using this an earlier version of our game engine and was released around 2-3 years ago. The original owner of that title ran out of money but sold pre orders for Mourning in hope they could use the funds from this to complete the game. I believe the game was at one point live but extremely buggy and so it was short lived. Many people felt ripped off, as they should have and this was the start of bad reputation of the game. Keep in mind, the original funder of the Mourning title was just one person. The Romanian companies that developed the title just developed the title and the engine and it was the sole funder that decided to release the game.



After Mourning proved to be a failure, Colton Burgess and Loud Ant Software bought the game and the engine in an attempt to get the game live again. I know Colton Burgess as I bought all of the assets from him. They tried for a year i believe to get the funding and talent needed to get the funding and they failed. He also got in very heated debates and threatened to investigate and sue a number of people for various things. He was quite the despicable character on the forums. However, to my knowledge he never did anything illegal and in fact would NOT release Thrones of Chaos (the remake of Mourning) because they were never able to finish it. So as much as Colton was a bad guy and completely out of line, I have seen nothing that indicates anything was done illegally. If I wrong here please show me some facts.



We bought bought everything from Loud Ant Software 6 months ago. We knew right off the bat there was no hope for the game Thrones of Chaos. The reputation of this game had been dragged through the mud because of failure of past team to deliver. We decided to break the game apart and sell its only valuable assets, the models.



The engine, which is the reason we bought it in the first place, has been worked on extensively to keep it current.



We are simply behind the engine technology which is a great product. If developers want to buy our product they do a ton of research before doing so. Like i said before, we do not sell our engine for less than 50,000.



It is completely irresponsible and evil to call everyone that has anything to do with this project a scam. It's both sad and comical that a company such as Quad Software has been brought into this. All these companies you portray as frauds with no fact, these people have done nothing wrong.



Tunabun it would be one thing if you did what you did based on facts, but we still haven't seen any. It really is evil, wasting people's time and hurting families.
