HAHAHA I remember that tunnel! Ah man, bringing back memories....why does everything seem so much better when looking back at it?
I remember the mining-grinding in wilderness lol...
The game has got some juice I must admit that:D
Was my first to :P that game had some juice before they removed the old wildy and got rid of full loot and turned it pritty dam orriable :-) still one of the best if not best browser games out there and its got some fun things but theyve lost the wildy.
i thought age of conan was ment to be new and exciting...
well knight online and a load of other F2P, never found any of these fun....well yes knight online for the first 10ish lvls were really great to me as a MMO n00b.
then thought ok will try one of those damn expensive P2P...only 2 that were ok new were EQ2 and WoW, read about them, saw screenshots etc. and took EQ2.
tried just about every MMO release since - most just in open beta tho, but never played anyother game than EQ2 to the bitter end.
That is exactly right, and we're not saying NO to save WoW, because it is already a lost cause. We are saying NO to dissuade the next group of greedy suits who decide to emulate Blizzard and Cryptic, etc. We can prevent some of the future games from spewing this crap, but the sooner we start saying no, the better the results will be. So - Stand up, pull up your pants, and walk away. - MMO_Doubter
Technically UO, but it was on dial-up so I got nothing done. Had to play it when I could from my buddy's house.
Later I did SWG from a laptop, again on dial-up, but it was still playable (in a sense). I immediately upgraded to a cable modem and I played that bad-boy for almost 2 years, while playing other games in-between for 1-4 months a piece. I've done all the big-name games so far, besides some oldies, but I'm more into indie ones now.

Now Playing: Skyrim, Wurm Online, Tropico 4 Waiting On: GW2, TSW, Archeage, The Rapture
I was also on Meridian 59 server 105. I was Rodric, of the guild The Power of Darkness. But my first MMORPG was the original Neverwinter Nights on AOL, if that really counts as an MMORPG (seems it should, although "massive" is subjective).
Tribes 2 being my first massive online experience, and first actual MMO being Anarchy Online, which I have taken many breaks from but still play to this day.
I was on miniclip playing some games, saw the add, played the game and somehow....SOMEHOW....I got addicted.
Quit along time ago.
"We got rid of the trinity." How'd you do that? "Now everyone can heal." Sounds like you just took the mechanic and spread it thin. "Well no, there's one class that can do it better than others." I see, so they're healers. "No. They're.." -mind asplode-
Runescape 2D , a very good MMO to start , gives you a general idea on what you are looking for . (do you want more PvP? Better crafting? better combat? etc.. Runescape has a lot of shallow variety and thus gave you a taste of a bit of everything and it was up to you to decide what it lacked and what you wanted more in your next MMO)
Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt. Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress.
Huge world that was all about exploring and the game was a loot junkies dream of which i am one.
Same. Played AC from launch. Great game for its time. Horribly dated compared to most other MMORPGs out today. If it got a massive face-lift, I'd go back no doubt.
First, as a few others have stated, was Never Winter Nights (AOL).
It was, in the begining, $6.00 an hour (on top of your AOL subscritpion)... and we liked it.
Eventualy though, it did become simply part of the AOL subscritption and the hourly rate went away... and we all rejoiced.
PVP? Yeah, if you were a spell caster... melee, you were out of luck. Hence the most popular class combo was a maxed out Mage/Cleric. Me? I played a maxed out Paladin/Mage, just to be different.
Graphics... heh, look them up.
Loved that game...
A bunch of us actualy kept it going, in spirit, after the game shut down by having a play by post set up. Then the NWN game came out and there is a guy that hosts an AOL NWN server. I tried it, and he did a good job with it... but it's just not the same.

I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them
Lineage 2

Anyhow, AC2 was my first too.

FFXI as soon as I got a broadband connection.
Mine was Ultima Online. Still to this date it was my favorite MMORPG of all time. I loved the sandbox feel in UO.
UO at launch on ISDN =O
knight online
when the game wasnt destroyed by turk community and you could login without the need to be premium member
I started with russian MUDs back in 1996.
First real MMO was WoW in 2004. Tried more then 70 MMOs since then

Runescape classic long before it became Runescape 2 or w/e it's called nowadays.
Ultima Online, Pacific Server. Moved to Baja when it opened but it was quite laggy. Moved to Napa Valley when it opened and the lag was much better.
This was when gamers played MMO's on 28.8 and 56k modems.
Laudanum - Romance. Revenge. Revolution.
Crappy, petty people breed and raise crappy, petty kids.
Tribes 2 being my first massive online experience, and first actual MMO being Anarchy Online, which I have taken many breaks from but still play to this day.

Asheron's Call. Skilled based. Make any char combo you want. No cookie cutter toons.

Everquest.
It was probably Guild wars or Lineage 2. Can't remember which one.

From there... too many to bother listing.
Lineage 2. meant to just try it out for a week just to see what online games were about and stayed for over 4 years.
