I don't get it, what's so beatiful about this video? characters very low detailed and look at sorceres firewall magic effect in forest, its very low detailed too
I'm not saying its a bad in-game video. its good but its not like untouchable visuals etc..
That's the point. For game based on mid to low end computers it's amazing visuals. That's why people are hyped. That and the fact it's artistically beautiful (my opinion).
The people at the begining of the video say ,, Everything you do afects youre surroundings, and decision u make etz´´
THey talk about it so proud and yet it is total scam from SW TOR they totally stolen idea lol and are so proud of it we dont wanna let u grind omg really sad.
Good sir, could you be so kind to allow me to copy this message? I'd like to use it as an example of the perfect troll post.
Anyway for all the people who think ANET is all talk, just wait until the demo at Gamescom is shown and you'll think differently about GW2.
lol yeah they've only been working on it since like 2005, I'm sure they "stole" the idea from SWTOR.

It does seem like they are stealing qoutes right out of the bioware /swtor play book.

Similar ideas kinda breed similar quotes, it happens. But from what we can all see, GW2 is taking the bigger risk and making the better sale.

The release of the EOTN expansion was them working on GW2. And they are not trying to upstage just Bioware alone, they are trying to upstage everyone in the freaking industry!

We will see if this game is the next big "mmo killer" that everyone is making it out to be. I have my doubts. I think this game is becoming way over hyped at this point. i wont go as far as to say I expect it to fail, because I don't expect that to happen. I do think it may not be what everyone is thinking it will be.

I'm just hoping for a breath of fresh air at this point..
Everyone on here is 0o0o0o0o0o aaaaahhhhhhh the trailer, but how will the actual game turn out?
They seen one trailer and all of a sudden this game is a WOW and every other MMO killer?
The Gamescom is next week, then we'll learn from the reports of visitors and playtesters how the gameplay really is like. My guess is that the boss monsters and the clips in the video were all ingame, so you have a week to keep on trolling before you're getting quoted as one example of how wrong and stubbornly blind people can be.
People responded positively upon GW2 not bc of just one video, but 3 videos and a multitude of interviews and articles in which ANet devs explained aspects of the gameplay in GW2.
That you're too lazy to look it up and read doesn't mean that other posters are.

Its true that its being hyped...But by who? The fans of course. The developers are simply stating what they are trying to deliver. In many ways these ideas are new in the way of actually implementing it in an mmo, but are ideas that allot of us MMO gamers have always wanted in a game, including myself. I have been wanting for a system like this way before the mentioning of GW2. To actually hear a developer say they are going to implement something that allot of mmo gamers want is like throwing a big birthday party and getting everything you want. So its going to be hyped for some time and probably up until its released. Lets hope that they can deliver.

all those aion trailers were supposed to be game play aswell, but it doesn't look and feel like any of that in the actual game. These trailers make the gameplay look way better than it really is.
I'm sure it will be good, but not that good. Dude I have seen all the videos , I seen the combat videos , I know about the lil voice and speaking the characters do during the combat. I have looked up plenty on the game, seeing as how this is one of those games I wish to purchase.
other mmos can bow to guild wars. people saying it's all fake are just noobs with no reading done. And that dragon coming from the sky is NOT FAKE! It will happen. When they show gw2 demo those guys will shut up! arenanet doesn't release anything that hasn't already been implemented in the game! Earlier trailers were based on concept art done by arenanet's artists. Now they do actual gameplay trailers!
Anybody remember that Aion 3.0 trailer? Yea, that's what I thought.... Until I see it in the game I don't believe it... They made aion look like this epic game in the trailer and when the game came out it wasn't half as good as the trailer. Just more hype here nothing more nothing less...
Yea, Aion was a good game, but certainly not the game from the aion 3.0 trailer they all wanted you to believe it was. Looks like more handy work from ncsoft. Yea yea yea.. aranet my ass. Who's name is still on the box.
What does a grind driven game have to do with guild wars ?
The level of hype is what it has to do with it.
check out this aion trailer... i think I just came my pants watching this one.

DUuuuuuuude, Aion 3.0 isn't/wasn't supposed to be released anytime soon..... FFS do some freaking reading....

why don't you do some reading. I know the difference between aion 1.9 2.0 and 3.0.. I said all those aion trailers... I didn't say that it was released. I say that it was the trailer looks like and I don't expect the game play to ever look like it does in that trailer.
It don't look like it now, and it wont look like that in 3.0
THey may have the housing and the swimming by then, but def the combat is never gonna look like that. It will always look like it does now. That was my whole point , so you really need to check yourself on that one.

It kind of reminds me of the hype for warhammer online when they said this is not like any other mmorpg around and so on about the quest system but then it ended up being just like any other mmorpg
Anyway i really hope this game does come out well.
Awesome trailer! Like I said it may bring back some of the magic that MMOs lost when it took over in place of D&D PnP. I will be buying this and SWTOR. Why you say? Why not? It's not like GW2 is gonna be charging me a sub for it. Once I buy it I own it and I don't have to worry about "catching up". So I will play SWTOR with my buddies first, then relax to some GW2 in my downtime......kill another MMORPG....don't make me laugh....that's like sayng the release of Deus Ex2 will kill Portal 2.....retarded prediction at best. Unless I'm limited to one game per lifetime.
It might not kill the game, but it might be the one you end up spending more of your time with.
Well I spend more time in life doing things other than playing video games, does that have any bearing on the fact that I still consider myself a dedicated gamer? All I'm saying that the "kill this mmo, kill that MMO argument" that the fanatics like to spew when they pledge holy allegiance to these temperary distractions of life need to be brought into perspective before they hurt themselves or worse another.
Sweet trailer I say! I'll definitely buy it. They I will play it. Then I will move on. But to praise all thee thy holy in our darkest hour.....no....that I will not participate in.
I didn't mention anything about your play style or anything like that, I only made a comment implying that when youu come home from that long days work you might end up wanting switch on GW2 more than any other game. That is in no way implying that you will spend ALL your time on it but more of your gaming time.
I respect your opinion and I'm not saying you should partake in their "OMG WOW KILLORZ!!1101!!"
Truth be told, I'll be buying two copies of GW2 so my wife and I can play together. But I have a feeling she'll still be play CATA long after I've hit the cap and moved to SWTOR. But that's an entirely different beast to tangle with. But who's to say I won't meet a group of top notch guys in GW2. It could happen and then throw a money wrench in all my plans......lol.
Either way it looks to be a helluva ride when I do log in for the first time!
I feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for anyone that would consider playing a game like WoW after the new games are being released like gw2, and swtor. hell, I will play any thing OTHER Than WoW......
The xpacs are getting to cost too much and the game offers the same boring crap anyhow.
Don't, she doesn't need your pity nor your condescending viewpoints of what's worthy of your time. Momma likes to play WoW so guess what? Momma will play WoW.
Hearing you is like listening to a nosey parent that comments on your child's ability to find entertainment where their child wouldn't and telling you they feel sorry for the poor child's choice on how to entertain herself. So what my kid likes to swing on a swing set for 3 hours and your kid enjoys the sandbox....who asked for your opinion anyway? We're here to talk about something else yet you keep dragging the conversation back to how boring swings are.....
Also the x-pac comment is silly, we all know that it's not about how much you spend, but did you get your money's worth. And I have no complaints....

You can't just go off of trailers bud, if you even took a second to look at some articles and interviews you probably wouldn't be thinking that. Now if you did, your just being kind of stubborn, you don't want to beleive it. Fact of the matter is we know it's not going to look exactly like that, but it gives us a good idea of how it will really be. If you watch the races of tyria trailer, in the charr area there are a bunch of charr fighting devourers that's what the combat is gonna look like, except there will be numbers flying most probably.
It kind of reminds me of the hype for warhammer online when they said this is not like any other mmorpg around and so on about the quest system but then it ended up being just like any other mmorpg

well it will be like any other MMO, there is lvls there will be extra obtainable abilities, there will be quests - tho they are handed to you by someone run over to you telling you 10 x mobs is trying to kill them or are killing their animals.
that said...am getting that hype feel, and aint even fond of it being 100% soloable and the fact you have to die twice to actually die, am worried that part will make the game too easy for the most part.
I have been looking forward to Guild Wars 2 since it was announced. I am a massive fan of the first game and have been playing it since release and still play it today.
I have also been hankering after some innovation and a move away from the current formula. Especially away from gear based games, grind, and stagnation of all kinds.
The fact that it is Guild Wars 2 that is looking to be the great innovator just makes me over the moon.
Thanks ArenaNet I look forward to playing your second awesome game.
I am saying that the combat in this video may look real epic, but don't expect it to actually play out like that when the game comes out.
I agree in that everything is still uncertain until beta gameplay arrives, and even then it's best to reserve final judgement until after playing the full beta or reading the reports of people who played the full beta.
But if I had to bet on what gameplay from which upcoming MMO comes closest to what is shown in the trailers, then it would be GW2.
This based on my experiences with GW and how ANet did things differently in there compared with other MMO's, and on the many detailed interviews that didn't have the level of vagueness that you encounter in the hyped up articles and info of other MMO's from the past and present.

They were meant to be condescending. IF wow is able to keep your wife or your gf or your mom or whoever it is you are talking about., entertained then that just shows what kind of person they are.
WoW is the game of pre adolescents. It's pretty much a kiddies game. It is not worth the money for those over priced xpacs as I said, and your girl probably needs to up her maturity level to be honest. As do most wow players.

Anyhow, I do think that from what we know about gw2 that this game may actually prove to be pretty decent. Not gonna get too excited like some of the people here, but I am looking forward to it.

That's the point. For game based on mid to low end computers it's amazing visuals. That's why people are hyped. That and the fact it's artistically beautiful (my opinion).
lol yeah they've only been working on it since like 2005, I'm sure they "stole" the idea from SWTOR.

It does seem like they are stealing qoutes right out of the bioware /swtor play book.
working on it? No they announced plans on it.. I agree with the guy. They seem to be trying to upstage bioware.
Similar ideas kinda breed similar quotes, it happens. But from what we can all see, GW2 is taking the bigger risk and making the better sale.
This is not a game.
The release of the EOTN expansion was them working on GW2. And they are not trying to upstage just Bioware alone, they are trying to upstage everyone in the freaking industry!
This is not a game.

I think someone just crapped my pants....yep, they did.

Can you stop refering to Aion and Hype all the time please?
This is about a GW2 video, not Aion. Stay on topic please. Thanks

DUuuuuuuude, Aion 3.0 isn't/wasn't supposed to be released anytime soon..... FFS do some freaking reading....
This is not a game.
why don't you do some reading.
I am saying that the combat in this video may look real epic, but don't expect it to actually play out like that when the game comes out.
The game has been hyped way too much, and the trailer reminds me of the aion trailers
It kind of reminds me of the hype for warhammer online when they said this is not like any other mmorpg around and so on about the quest system but then it ended up being just like any other mmorpg
Anyway i really hope this game does come out well.

If you watch the races of tyria trailer, in the charr area there are a bunch of charr fighting devourers that's what the combat is gonna look like, except there will be numbers flying most probably.
well it will be like any other MMO, there is lvls there will be extra obtainable abilities, there will be quests - tho they are handed to you by someone run over to you telling you 10 x mobs is trying to kill them or are killing their animals.
that said...am getting that hype feel, and aint even fond of it being 100% soloable and the fact you have to die twice to actually die, am worried that part will make the game too easy for the most part.
got to love trailers ;P
I have been looking forward to Guild Wars 2 since it was announced. I am a massive fan of the first game and have been playing it since release and still play it today.
I have also been hankering after some innovation and a move away from the current formula. Especially away from gear based games, grind, and stagnation of all kinds.
The fact that it is Guild Wars 2 that is looking to be the great innovator just makes me over the moon.
Thanks ArenaNet I look forward to playing your second awesome game.

Your last reply blatantly proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are not worth responding to after this. The amount of crap spewing forth from your mouth has me wondering if you rescently had it swapped with your anus and currently use the bathroom with your head stuck in the toilet bowl. I take my leave from your glorious banter here.

I wasn't too interested in GW2. After seeing this, it now has my attention.
